A view of Ponytail Falls (aka, Upper Horsetail Falls) in the Columbia River Gorge of Oregon. The trail through this particular gorge passes behind the falls. A family hiking the trail pauses on a rock under the falls to watch the spectacle.

I remember buying this custom ooak dress. but I am having difficulty remembering this particular doll. The doll appears to have had her hair professionally restyled and makes retouched at the spa, but she has green at the ears. If I had sent her to the spa myself, I would have requested green ear treatment. So, I assume I bought the doll like this with the intention of sending her to the spa for green ear treatment but never did... Anyway, I have a few blonde ponytails, so I will auction this pretty lady off.

Ponytails are a must for distance runners.

Not much to see here, just a regular old boring ponytail.

Happy Waterfall Wednesdays!

9 inches. smells like the pink hand soap from the stores your mama used to take you on her days off. quite the sheen for such a small tail.

i received this much, much later after the girl's chop. she'd grown it back out already, and this time further down her back--to her shoulder blades. she just happened to have preserved this tail out of bitter sentimentality.

why? how? well, this 9 incher had been taken off nearly 2 years prior, when she had barely 9 to offer. she was a student then. when tied, her ponytail reached only down to her shoulders. it probably wasn't within school regulations--i don't know, i didn't press her for the details--but it was, once again, one of those drastic cuts that i find so alluring. and again, as she'd vaguely noted, it was a bitter (unwanted?) cut. short as it was, she treasured it.

i don't care if they come short. short tails are often better hydrated, silkier, and healthier anyway. as long as they represent a drastic cut, i'm more than satisfied.

Saw this girl in a case lot on marketplace.....I made an offer on just the ponytail.....It was love at first sight....love her attitude.....Has original top knot and no green......after a good bath and eyelash ridge touch up I think she turned out pretty....Never hurts to ask...

Lydia's pretty hair.....

Today was picture day at school so I put it in sponge rollers last night for some big curls.

It's not often that you get to walk under a waterfall, not and stay dry anyway. This is the dry alcove under Ponytail Falls, which was my favorite falls of the day.

(there's no room under there to step back and "fit it all in" so this is a four-shot square panorama)

Rain in the forecast, it follows us wherever we go. What to do, what to do... Well, waterfalls look good in the rain and we had planned to see more waterfalls between Portland and The Dalles. There are a bunch of 'em around here.

I think this is a hybrid #4 heavier body with a #5 or later head. The head does not have flocking.

The decorative ponytail plant is native to dry, desert regions of Mexico and the southern United States.

Common name: Ponytail palm, elephant’s foot tree

Botanic name: Beaucarnea recurvata (also known as Nolina recurvata and N. tuberculata)

A slow growing, evergreen tree to about 9m (30′) tall. Its palm-like trunk has a massive, swollen base, which may reach 3 metres (10′) in diameter. The trunk tapers upward and then branches, with each branch supporting a dense crown of long, strappy leaves. Ponytails are dioecious, that is male and female reproductive parts are on separate plants. Masses of small white flowers are produced in summer, followed by spectacular stems of pinkish, 3-winged seeds on mature female plants.

This is Briana wearing her hair in a ponytail.

She doesn't wear a ponytail that often, but she had to when she went rock climbing with friends.

She was told by a climbing assistant that she had to tie it back for "health and safety reasons" when she climbed. She had her hands full with climbing equipment at the time, so she had to get one of the climbing assistants to tie it back for her.

He exclaimed that Briana's hair was the longest he had ever seen in his life.

Re-root, re-paint and an amazing fashion set by Lolaxs'. The very best I have seen. :-) Love her work. www.flickr.com/photos/38189159@N06/3530472641/

Had a great Autumn trip to the Columbia River Gorge with some friends this year. This is only one of many shots taken on the trip. This is a land of magical water.
