The animal frieze decorating the widest part of this round-bodied wine jug recalls black-figure pottery imported to Etruria from Greece (especially Corinth). The shape itself, with trefoil mouth and raised handle to facilitate pouring, also resembles Greek models, as do the simple tongues and rays above and below. But the polychromed animals—brightly painted with added white and reddish-purple—identify the vase as Etruscan, likely made at Vulci. The two deer seem to be grazing on stylized plants, unconcerned about the unusual animals pursuing them; these may be lions with horns and long tongues.

Four animals encircle this jug—two grazing deer and two predators, perhaps lions.

Another thrift store find. Original polychrome (multi-colored) paint, amber glass teardrops, and all the gold-colored cloth wire in great shape. Unusually for the era, rather than being made for bare bulbs (usually a pinkish-orange tint intended to look romantic and be pleasing to mi-lady's complexion), these turn-key sockets have clamp-on fitters for glass shades. I've put on the five nicest shades I have; this was taken just after I got it up and hadn't fully lamped it yet. I had to wire the chain up, as it normally hangs much lower.
This fixture has been moved to the new studio addition.
The Denali Park Road runs north of and roughly parallel to the imposing Alaska Range. The oldest rocks in the park, collectively called the Yukon-Tanana terrane, were ocean sediments deposited in shallow seas during the Paleozoic era some 300 to 500 million years ago. Later in the Paleozoic and into the Early Mesozoic (100 to 300 million years ago), other terranes, fragments of the larger continental plates, migrated north on the Pacific Plate and attached to the Yukon-Tanana terrane, creating the current jigsaw puzzle of rocks from many depositional environments.
During the last 100 million years, the assembled terranes buckled from continuous tectonic collision, uplifting to create the present-day topography of the Alaska Range. About six million years ago, a regional uplift that began in the Alaska Range spread north to push up the Outer Range .
Around 70 million years ago, alternating warm, near-tropical conditions and cooler, drier periods enhanced erosion and deposition in sedimentary basins such as the Cantwell, where dinosaurs walked among ancestral lakes, braided streams, and alluvial fans. Volcanic eruptions dominated the scene 40 to 50 million years ago, creating the colourful rocks at Polychrome Pass which you see in the photo.

This is an old palace built by Alfonso XI about the year 1340. His son Pedro I continued to build it. His favourite MarÃa de Padilla stayes at there. Later he donated the palace to his first-born daughter Beatriz who turned it into a Monastery according to his father's will.
Therefore, the current building is a complex group of premises based on the original frame of the palace.
The palace's outbuildings are mudejar style. Some artists from Toledo were made to come to Tordesillas. As a result, a great palace with large rooms around a yard was built.
In 1363, the palace was adapted for the needs of the Monastery, so that it changes its physiognomy gradually. The church (gothic style) is built in the second half of the XIVth century. The presbytery is covered with a splendid wooden frame with bright and golden colours. In the XVth century, the Chapel of Saldaña family is built. It is considered to be pne of the most splendid Gothic buildings in the province of Valladolid.
The Arab Baths are separated from the whole building. They are closely related to the Islamic examples in AndalucÃa. They have rooms controlled by water and staggered temperature steam with kilns under the paving.
Due to its historical and artistic importance, it is considered to be one of the best examples of mudejar art in Castile and Leon.
