I like the sleeves...they show off my tan! And I think they may help make my shoulders look a little less man-ish.
Not yet blogged Nettie Bodysuit by Closet Case files cut as a top (since I wanted to test the fit before trying bodysuit or dress version). LOVE this pattern!!!!
I cut the size 12 (my measurements suggested a size 10 but I saw the blog post suggesting that the sizes be shifted) except at the bust and front sleeve where I cut the size 16 (as a cheater FBA, basically).
Fabric is a wonderful Riley Blake cotton spandex blend (5% spandex).
Will blog soon at Polka Dot Overload.
A new little set of little illustrations :)
I drew these with a biro onto a little notepad I have of different coloured papers. I then added the polkadots and colours in photoshop.
Blog update about henna, yes I have dyed my hair red now, finally! No more blonde! It's more like ORANGE.. but yeah, it's definitely not blonde anymore ;D
I liked this shot, used it for a blog update about my henna routine! You can read about it hereeeeee

I'm wearing my beloved me-made McCall's 6070 ombre polka dot dress and little Z is wearing a she-made starfish headband and me-made wax print Oliver + S dress (technically the "Ice Cream Dress" but she's allergic to dairy, so we call it the "Coconut Cream Dress").

As anyone who reads my sewing blog (or even more so my food allergy/ recipe blog Safe & Scrumptious from Scratch) knows, my three-year-old daughter Z has severe life-threatening multiple food allergies.
She's allergic to sesame, nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, mustard, cumin, poppy, canola and peas... so as you can imagine we don't eat in restaurants or buy much processed food, and we ALWAYS carry two EpiPen auto-injectors with us and make sure she wears her allergy alert bracelet.
Anyway, today is day two of Food Allergy Awareness Week, and today's action is #tealtakeover — since teal is the official color of Food Allergy Awareness.
There are 15 million Americans with food allergy—and many, like my daughter, at at risk of life-threatening anaphylaxis. Please think about the food allergic people in your life—and what you can do to make them feel welcome and safe! Learn more at www.foodallergy.org/.
I'd like to introduce my son Adri, born this past Sunday morning in our home. It was a beautiful waterbirth and both mother and son are doing well. We were so excited to finally meet him!
We've had overwhelming support from family and friends and invaluable assistance from our midwives. He's a brand new person that I'm looking forward to getting to know over time.
The name Adri represents the clouds of the sky that become rocks and mountains of the earth. Atlantis, to us, represents the mystery and discovery of life.

To complement Chihuly's polka-dotted "White Tower with Fiori", the botanical garden brought in some exotic potted plants with polka-dotted leaves. Rick noticed this juxtaposition. (I actually did get a shot with all 3 in the frame, but it was too far away to see the polka dots on the artwork.)
Aha! There was no label on those highly improbable plants, but I think I found it: Begonia maculata.
