just to let you all know I will still be uploading photographs onto Flickr will just have to re-think my copyright notice.

This is more of a warning to those armchair enthusiasts who think it's okay to right click and "save as". If you want a picture of a bus why don't you get off your arse, buy a camera, learn how to use it and take photographs yourself, no matter how crap your photos may be there is no need to steal other peoples. We all start at the bottom, jeez you wanna see my first bus pictures, I was either way too close or the bus was miles away lol.

Getting good pictures takes time, and I'll admit it I still take awful pictures from time to time and I'm still learning.

Also I hate writing things so apologies my spelling and punctuation is not the best.

no, after you -

no really, after you -

' Politeness is the flower of humanity '

Joseph Joubert

Grass Lake, Highway 89 / El Dorado County, California

We’ve been ordering things online and it is amazing the diversity of way things are handled. From the huge box with yards of brown wrapping paper to ship things that were not at all breakable to the totally water logged box that held bathroom lightbulbs that weren’t at all surrounded by plastic. It’s nice to see vendors that care and they will get return customers in us when it’s time to consume again.

Politeness is a way for me of expressing love for others in attention to their needs :-) This path reminds me of politeness -- too narrow for two to pass! Always a dance to see who will be first to pass :-) I love the morning routine and the fact that we always smile and thank each other :-) Interaction that wouldn't otherwise take place!!

Proof statues can talk!

Step one you say we need to talk

He walks you say sit down it's just a talk

He smiles politely back at you

You stare politely right on through

Some sort of window to your right

As he goes left and you stay right

Between the lines of fear and blame

And you begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best

Cause after all you do know best

Try to slip past his defense

Without granting innocence

Lay down a list of what is wrong

The things you've told him all along

And pray to God he hears you

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice

You lower yours and grant him one last choice

Drive until you lose the road

Or break with the ones you've followed

He will do one of two things

He will admit to everything

Or he'll say he's just not the same

And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Polite conversation in Trafalgar Square...or maybe not?

Nearly two years ago I informed Daisy that I would not be going out in public with her anymore as Michael. If she wants to go to the store with me, or out to eat, or on a road trip, or whatever....she's off to the powder room for makeup first...or we don't go. And I have been true to my word. Except for family visits and a very few unavoidable circumstances, it is Daisy by my side whenever we pull out of the driveway. And I gotta say...it was totally the right call. I mean, wouldn't you prefer to see this pretty lady sitting in front of you at dinner??? I certainly do! 😍

St Albans Sanitorium in Radford Virginia started as a TB hospital but rapidly became a hospital for the mentally Insane in 1916 and shut down for good in 2003.

I politely convinced the people who own it to let me come in and photograph by myself for 4 hours on a Sunday so Id be alone. 2 other people came along, one I know, one I met that day. Emma, Riverside Santa , was one. Once we got inside I split off by myself and walked the entirety of both buildings, into the Morgue, Electro Shock room, the suicide bathroom where many had committed suicide, the bowling alley in the basement, all with dripping peeling paint an some rooms that smelled so bad you had to leave as soon as you went in. The "cage" up on the roof as well.

Torture took place in this building, for years on these poor people. Experimental treatments were a constant. I can't imagine the pain these poor tortured souls were in for so long. Rumor has it one of the patients bought the building when it closed down.

As I walked this place, it was one of the most peaceful experiences in an old left to rot building I've had to date. The light from every window was beautiful, the floors , royal entry way staircase , and the sheer height of the ceilings and fixtures randomly convinced your brain you were in a castle or Mansion. I couldn't wrap my head around the beauty of this place that at the same time holds such evil memories for so many lost souls. It makes no sense. None of it at any angle. Where care should be, where concern should live and fragility is the norm for whom you care for. There in lies the conundrum.

I shot every floor and almost every room, tripod with shutter release, slow and deliberate photos.

I'll be going back again for more time , there were shots I planned out in my head but felt rushed since there was so much ground to cover.

They have great service, a staff that is both incredibly helpful and polite. I have been going there since Mr. Picou owned the store and Mrs. Susan is equally as wonderful. Their prices are great and the candy they sell reminds me of when I was a kid. Better than the chains and the prices are great too.

Sorry

Our politeness taints everything.
