Oren Lavie - Note to Self / Bedroom Crimes (2017)

Never say never, but never say always. Sometimes can be good for you. Try to be kinder to people who bore you. You're probably boring them too. Never say one thing and wish for another. For which of the two will come true? If you can love it then it will most likely love you. Never say never. And don't be so clever, it's lonely to win every fight. Never say something you wouldn't like giving. If you can't be nice be polite. Like you do one thing is how you do everything, but you can't do everything right, all of the time. Try to be true, try to be fair. (...) Don't be so late. Don't make people wait. Don't act like your so fucking great. Don't ove-rprepare. And take better care, care of yourself.

PS: Yann Tiersen - Western / Les Retrouvailles (2005)

D'après la consonance du nom, Yann Tiersen pourrait être français. Eh bien, oui... il est français. C'est un bon compositeur, même si sa musique peut être difficile à comprendre.

PS: George Benson - On Broadway

This song is the main theme of the soundtrack of a great movie, "All That Jazz"... George Benson... el "octopus"... a great musician.

33203 climbs away from Salisbury on Christmas Eve 1986 with the 0650 Waterloo to Exeter St Davids service.

In October 1986 I had bought my first SLR camera and two months later, putting it politely, I was still very much getting to grips with it.

On Christmas Eve I was aimed to capture some images of class 33s and 50s at Salisbury, which operated virtually all passenger trains at Salisbury then.

What I hadn't bothered with was the weather forecast, which combined the saying 'red sky in the morning, shepherd's warning' and the photographer's saying of 'f4 at a fortnight'. A heavy overnight frost was about to be obliterated by a blanket of cloud rolling in from the west.

Out I trotted and this photograph was the closest I came to any sun on a train that day. Everything else was hopelessly composed, dark or speed-blurred, or sometimes all three.

However, 34 years on, it is now clear the day wasn't a complete write-off: this image has reacted well to the wonders of today's photo-processing, and a reasonable image has finally appeared, 34 years after I took the original photograph.

to rest and play. Take time for politeness. Take time to pass over the road of life — and if you fail and fall among the rocks, arise again and struggle on; let not hurry nor worry divert you from your path. Study your nature. You will be healthy, happy and successful :-)

Peck's Skipper is the most attractive of the three Polites species occurring in central Alberta, .

You know, no one one really knows what he does up there. Heh, you know who I'm talking about, right? The Professor. Yeah, he doesn't seem to come down very often does he? Night after night you can see the light coming from the window and sometimes you'll see his shape walk past. He's just so mysterious! Some say he's doing weird experiments up there. Others say he's mad and obsessed with the supernatural. Then there is that raven of his coming and going. Yet when you see him on the street he seems like the perfect gentleman with a polite smile; so quiet and observing. Who is he? What does he do? He's a mystery.

Continuing the theme of slightly more abstract waterfalls, today in the company of my chauffeur for the day, Reginald Molehusband, also known as Mr Graham Morris, who also brought much better weather with him!

We had a wonderful day auditioning for Bambi On Ice and exploring the many beautiful waterfalls around Keld.

This is a small waterfall just downstream from Wain Wath Force.

Such an amazing amount of water flowing today and certainly not polite or fumbling, more a case of 'Sod you! I'm coming through!'

There may be a few more of these I'm afraid to say.

First light along the Outer Banks of North Carolina brought out these two rather curious deer, both of which seemed to be interested in what a couple of humans might be doing on this remote stretch of coastline so early in the morning.

Had they asked, we would've politely explained that we were looking to do some landscape photography, but would be more than happy to switch gears now that they had arrived on the scene. ;) These two little guys stuck around for a few seconds, as they were a bit skittish about the rapid fire clicking of our camera's shutter.

Although their visit was brief, they were kind enough to pose for this golden hour portrait while surrounded by some magnificent Coastal Carolina landscape.

Photographed at Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, Connecticut

The cricket sang,

And set the sun,

And workmen finished, one by one,

Their seam the day upon.

The low grass loaded with the dew,

The twilight stood as strangers do

With hat in hand, polite and new,

To stay as if, or go.

A vastness, as a neighbor, came, --

A wisdom without face or name,

A peace, as hemispheres at home, --

And so the night became.

I'm almost entirely sure of that! Because indetifying fritillaries is an inexact art, to put it politely.

to speak with mouth full LoL. When I go to this one spot the water fowl can be so close I can touch them. Most know me. Often the Mom & Dad goose will bring me their young to feed. They luv their corn. This beauty was dredching bottom of pond (real close) for good food.

It was the most beautiful summer morning on the lake. Couldn't believe he let me this close from my kayak.

I want to wish all Americans a Happy Thanksgiving and what better way to do it than with a bald eagle who just finished eating a big fish. My American friends have shown me the most kindness on this Flickr journey, and they say us Canadians are nice, but I think we have nothing on them. Appreciate you! ❤️

"An eagle's vision sees beyond the ordinary"

" Step one, you say, "We need to talk"

He walks, you say, "Sit down, it's just a talk"

He smiles politely back at you

You stare politely right on through

Some sort of window to your right

As he goes left, and you stay right

Between the lines of fear and blame

You begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Let him know that you know best

'Cause after all, you do know best

Try to slip past his defense

Without granting innocence

Lay down a list of what is wrong

The things you've told him all along

Pray to God, he hears you

And I pray to God, he hears you

And where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

As he begins to raise his voice

You lower yours and grant him one last choice

Drive until you lose the road

Or break with the ones you've followed

He will do one of two things

He will admit to everything

Or he'll say he's just not the same

And you'll begin to wonder why you came

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

How to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend

Somewhere along in the bitterness

And I would have stayed up with you all night

Had I known how to save a life

How to save a life

How to save a life ... "

Louie and Gail's delightful Thanksgiving dinner table setting (under construction) for 17 family and friends, plus two polite and well-mannered sporting dogs.

A wonderful time was had by all...

Wishing a Happy Thanksgiving for you, as well.

It is the evening of the First Snowfall, and light snow still falls sporadically through the twilight. It is also the night of the Winter Soirée. Everyone has arrived in their finery, each on the arm of another.

All but you.

Though you'd been asked several times, you politely declined each invitation. You didn't tell anyone, but you were holding out hope for a chance encounter with the mysterious stranger you'd bumped into the other day. Inwardly, you chided yourself for such a foolish fantasy. The stranger had dropped a hint that they would be at the soirée, but nothing was certain.

Now here you are—dressed in your finest and possibly making a fool of yourself. The cold bites at your cheeks as doubt creeps in. Perhaps you should turn around, go home, pretend this never happened.

But what is this?

Don’t know, so just observe:

Cautious as if crossing a winter stream; Alert as a spy; Polite as a guest; Elusive as melting ice; Plain as uncarved wood; Receptive as a valley; Opaque as a muddy pool.

But move away from beside the road...

The more I look at this image, it appears that the wooden post with the ‘eyes and face’, perhaps politely told this squirrel to move away from beside the road... LOL! The white squirrel ran away with its snack shortly after... :-))

A rare sighting of a white squirrel which I have seen in this same area, earlier in the spring. Apparently a rare colour variation of the Eastern Grey Squirrels, which are plentiful here. The albino squirrels will have red eyes and this one does not have this feature.

If someone says "Dude, we should hike to the summit and see all the firework shows at once!" politely tell them no as it really, really is not neat, pretty, or worth it IMO.

The shunter asked me before, if he should wait until I have finished my photograph. He told me, he is not in hurry, he is just at work. I politely asked him to continue his work.
