Wikipedia: The M4 Sherman, officially Medium Tank, M4, was the most widely used medium tank by the United States and Western Allies in World War II. The M4 Sherman proved to be reliable, relatively cheap to produce, and available in great numbers. It was also the basis of several other armored fighting vehicles including self-propelled artillery, tank destroyers, and armored recovery vehicles. Tens of thousands were distributed through the Lend-Lease program to the British Commonwealth and Soviet Union. The tank was named by the British after the American Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman.

While searching my archives today I came across this long exposure. I remember this evening very well.
I take so many photos, and so many of them are overlooked, lost & forgotten. I need to stop taking photos!
Silly me. That's not ever going to happen!
Happy Monday!

The event runs from Februrary 13th 'til March 2nd.
The signing of an agreement on 29th June 2016 by the CEO of PKP Cargo and representatives of the Wielkopolska region and Wolsztyn town heralds a new beginning for steam traction based at the Wolsztyn roundhouse, possibly leading to the return of scheduled steam-hauled passenger services. Whatever the format of such services would be will be revealed in time, but this is certainly a positive step in the right direction. Any news update from Polish Flickr members would be appreciated. Looking back to 2nd December 2013, at a time when scheduled 'commuter services' were about to be transferred from the Poznan to Leszno line, Ol49-59 storms away from Szreniawa just before sunset heading the 13:32 (train 77331) Wolsztyn to Poznan service. The two coach trailing load was no serious task for an 'Ol49' class 2-6-2, but the passenger services between Wolsztyn and Poznan, even with a slackened timetable towards the end, required lively departures for the loco from the sixteen intermediate station stops along the route.

Cozy Chic in the [COSMOS] Zofia Top & Skirt Set – Winter Style Elevated
When I slipped into the [COSMOS] Zofia Top & Skirt Set, it was like wrapping myself in the perfect mix of style and comfort. The sweater top is made of a beautifully soft knit, with a slightly cropped cut that hugs just right, and ribbed cuffs and hem that add a touch of elegance. The pleated skirt is its perfect match—falling just above the knee with crisp knife pleats that move gracefully as you walk. The subtle sheen of the fabric gives it a polished edge, making it the ultimate outfit for any occasion.
To top it off—literally—I added the Tastic Pom Pom Beanie. This isn’t just any beanie; it’s a masterpiece of cozy fashion. Crafted from a chunky cable-knit texture, it offers warmth with a luxe feel. The snug ribbed brim lends it a comfortable and secure look, while the oversized pom-poms on top add a playful, whimsical touch. Whether you choose a neutral color to blend in or a bold shade to pop, it’s the perfect accessory to crown this winter-ready look.
For a seamless blend of style and practicality, I grabbed the Raga Bag by VESTA. Its structured design, gleaming metallic accents, and buttery leather finish elevate the outfit with a dose of sophistication. It’s the kind of bag that makes you feel effortlessly chic while holding everything you need.
Finishing off the look, the Yokana (YK) Nona Boots with Tartan Socks were an absolute must. The boots add a bold, chunky edge, but it’s the tartan-patterned socks that make them irresistible, peeking out just enough to give the ensemble a playful, quirky vibe. Together, they ground the outfit with a perfect mix of comfort and style.
This is my go-to winter look—cozy, chic, and just the right amount of fun. Whether you’re exploring wintery landscapes or hitting up a holiday party, the [COSMOS] Zofia Top & Skirt Set, paired with these standout accessories, will keep you warm and effortlessly fashionable. Trust me, you’ll fall in love with every detail!

What's that old saying about being clean enough that you could eat off of it? How do they do it? They must spend more time cleaning than driving. I'm impressed.
Created for the group "Looking close... on Friday!" and the theme "a single egg". (Also posted in "52 in 2023" under 39. Patterned.)
The Polish community here in Colorado Springs is getting ready for Easter, and I got a preview of their traditional baskets, which include their version of Easter eggs, called "pisanka."
Naturally, I wanted to include Pikes Peak, since it's in everybody's backyard here. It takes a little longer for Spring to arrive in Colorado, but it promises to be beautiful.
(Taken with my new Samsung S23 Ultra phone, which I intend to use as my "walking around" camera.)
ChatGPT: "Pisanka", also known as kraszanki, are decorated eggs that are a significant part of Polish culture and traditions. The word "pisanka" comes from the Polish verb "pisać," which means "to write."
Polish pisanki are traditionally made by drawing designs on the eggshell with melted beeswax using a stylus called a rylce or kistka. The egg is then boiled in a natural dye made from onion skins, beets, or other materials, with the waxed areas remaining the original eggshell color. The process can be repeated with additional colors and designs, with the final layer of wax melted off to reveal the intricate design.
Polish pisanki often feature geometric patterns, stylized plants, and animal motifs, including roosters, ducks, and storks. The designs are often rich in symbolism and may represent aspects of nature, fertility, or religion.
Pisanki are an essential part of Polish Easter traditions, and they are believed to bring good luck, health, and prosperity. They are often given as gifts to friends and family and are also used to decorate Easter baskets filled with food, including bread, meats, and eggs.

At the height of the second world war in 1942, a Polish Army training camp was based in Owen Sound, Ontario. Just outside the city limits, one of the soldiers stationed there, carved a message into this old Beech tree with his bayonet, which includes the first words from the Polish national anthem and translates as, Poland has not yet perished." He signed it as "zolniers," or soldier, and if you look in the upper right by the poppy, you can read still read the date.
One can only imagine the uncertainties going through the minds of those young men at the time.
