DAY 4
Polaroid land 220/choco80
i was reading a book
from the library
a Joel Meyerowitz book
titled Creating a Sense of Place
and upon finishing it
and seeing the little pocket
that once held the library card
with all the names
of the previous folks
who also checked out the book
(gosh how i miss that little card)
i knew i had to put a Polaroid
right there
right in there
and a Polaroid that was indeed
as the books title suggested
Creating a Sense of Place
and this place here
a childhood house
where i spent
all my elementary years
a place i get to go back to
from time to time
sometimes reluctantly
as my father retired here
a place where i remember
the two big oaks
that stood at this corner
draped with Spanish moss
i could reach out and touch those bearded trees
as i walked on the rooftop
the trees
are gone now
forever
my mother
is gone now
but just 1,000 miles from here
but the trees
are gone now
forever
'RoidWeek Day 4 | Image 2
Fuji Instax SQ6
Multi-Exposure Mode
I am using this 'RoidWeek to try to break out of boundaries I set for myself and take a chance at sucking at something new. I've never done multi-exposures before and never on Instant film, but the SQ6 has the feature and I've always wanted to try with monochrome film.
My first shot was completely black, but by shot 4 I was getting how this little camera did what it does.
Let them wear it!

Polaroid Week Spring 2021
This was my last pack of chocolate, and I've clearly waited too long. Something got stuck after the first three shots, so all the tabs just broke off. Most of the pods were okay so since it's the last pack I thought I'd run everything through the rollers anyway...
This shoot was supposed to happen last year, but things always get in the way. I think I just happened to check in with Savannah and she was coming to town, so we made plans. This was probably the first or second shot, and I always know it's going to be a good day when I get great shots that we both love early on. We bonded over photography since Savannah does casual shoots and wedding photography on the regular, and we both tried to figure our way around my Mamiya C330 since I hadn't used that beast in years. It was a great shoot, and I'm glad I didn't give up on us getting together to roam around town.

And that's it for Spring Polaroid Week! Thanks for checking out my photos, and I'll see you in the Autumn.

I was inspired by shots like this on IG, and I think this was the closest I've gotten to a silhouette double exposure on polaroid. I've still got work to do, but I will keep at it.
The ideas on this day were come and go, hit or miss, until we found these Gingko Leaves and then all of the photos were amazing. I might be bypass but I immediately thought of about 10 shots that all worked out and I've got so many Polaroids from this day that I love. This is probably my favorite though.

For a while last year, the double exposures were getting better. I worked on a project and learned a ton, and Sarah and I made good use of those new skills in this garden back in December. Can I still do this? I have no idea. The skills come and go, so I probably have to work my way back up now.

Backyard snag that makes an excellent spot to birdwatch. Pileated Woodpeckers, Northern Flickers, Fish Crows, Sharp-Shinned Hawks, Red Shouldered Hawks, Turkey Vultures and Hummingbirds even perch on it. The best though was when a single Green Heron sat atop it and called and sunned itself in the morning sun.

Instax mini with KiiPix (not a camera). The KiiPix is basically a toy that uses Instax mini film to capture an image from a phone (So they think). In this case i basically squeezed my head into the device and added a lot of light :)
