I do not know the species (I know they are many and difficult to identify) but I think they are fascinating and enjoy seeing them.

I keep my pointsettias on the deck and bring them in when the weather gets cool,

I used to love riding around Puerto Rico and taking pictures of the little wooden frame houses, they were always so colorful and unique. If you drive around now you will not find one like this, most everyone has cement block houses, so much for progress...

I love how they only paint the front of the house, I guess they think noone can see the back.

Lovely red-flocked gift tag with a pointsettia and embossed lettering.

Only four of us (including Dan, the bus driver) went on the Monday morning "Bus for breakfast". Because there were so few of us, breakfast didn't take as long, so we had time to visit the West Coast Nursery to see their Poinsettias. They come in all colours, including a blue one! What an awesome sight they were.. Luckily I had my camera with me, so managed to get 15 picures in a very short time. We had to be back at our complex in time for the exercise group.

This was a very inspiring trip! I will be posting more in the next few days. Enjoy!t

I was able to use the same background to make this card. I used a brass stencil for embossing.

The poinsettia was painted white first.

Had to Google this plant. Most probably in the scurge genus. The same genus as the poinsettia. No one was seen kissing beneath it.

Created in Photoshop Elements 11.

I bought this beautiful flower at Pasquesi's Home And Garden Center.

a set for an order I had. Mini cupcakes with various holiday decorations. Chocolate with whipped ganache, vanilla with vanilla or ganache, and chocolate with peppermint swirl buttercream.

A Little Sugar on Facebook

I've been out of town--we went to Walt Disney World (many fun Disney images will be coming soon!), but I wanted to wish my Flickr friends and visitors a very Merry Christmas!

This jolly Texas Santa image belongs to my Flickr friend, Roadsidepictures, and you can see the original image here:

The background is based on the beautiful hybrid pointsettias I saw at EPCOT at Walt Disney World.

May the blessings of the season be with you and your family!

Yes, it is ANOTHER Partners photo...but who can resist it? Especially during the golden hour when the statue is alive with reflected sunlight? Add a field of poinsettias and you have a photo magnet...

The Partners statue is a unique sculpture, and DIsneyland's vesion is particularly interesting to photograph because it CHANGES COLOR in different lighting conditions...Sometimes it is a cool bluish shade, and at other times it is a lovely warm bronze...

Poinsettias only days away from being displayed at Mohonk Mountain House located in Ulster County, NY.

Can't let a week go by without something plant based can I? I'm loving the 30mm f/1.4 more and more. I'm pretty sure this was manual focus.

I've not had a one of these before as they're poisonous to cats, although I've often bought them for other people. I was supposed to give this to someone for Christmas but their trip was cancelled due to all the snow so I've ended up keeping it. It didn't seem right to give it so much later. I've put it out of the cat's way and it seems to be doing well.

Oh and I ordered a speedlight the other day - after having it on my wish list for over two years - and I think it's stuck at the sorting office. Typical that the only afternoon this week when there's no-one in is when they try to deliver it. Can't wait to have a play!

Colorful plant at Easter time. Brightens up the room.

Vintage wallpaper scrap. I don't know where you'd paper with pointsettias, but this is certainly pointsettia season!

From an Etsy shop.

Holiday decorations from church. This poinsettia was decorating the platform with the lights from a Christmas tree in the background.

I have such a tough time photographing reds...

We can gather pine cones (and I just did today) while the pointsettias are blooming in July---it is winter.

The carrots tried very, very hard to turn themselves into a wreath of Euphorbia pulcherrima. They should have known they parted classes at Magnoliopsida. Nonetheless, they learned several things about poinsettias which they didn't know. Nor did I. For example, if it hadn't been for Mr. Poinsett, we would have had to call them Cuetlaxochitl. Can you imagine us all trying to pronounce that every December?

Just trying out a new technique. Painting on cookies. I got some good tips from our flickr friend ArtyMagoo!
