...Nostalgia, reminiscing and dwelling on the memories of the past has always been an intrinsic part of my nature. Nostalgic brings to our lives both pain and happiness, the sweet alchemy of life. Jamie Cullen sings a song entitled ‘pointless nostalgic’ with lyrics I can wholeheartedly identify with…
Ain’t thinking ‘bout love today
Lost in the sunlight
Walking down memory lane
Ain’t thinking ‘bout you today
People from the past that I knew
Are slowly slipping away
Seems so long ago
Since we were carefree
Photographs lost in time are all I see
A pointless nostalgic
That’s me
Thoughts running round my head today
Times from the past popping up where they’re from I don’t know
Reminiscing my cares away
Wishing I could go back and change the points that were low
Till I’ve realised what life’s meant to be
‘Till I’ve realised what life’s meant to be’ tames this overemphasized obsession into submission and shed’s light on the reality of life. We all wish we could go back and change the times in our lives which were low but life’s meant to consist of the highs and lows. The journey however rough or calm it may be is what builds character and wisdom into our lives, we learn from our experiences, we treasure the memories but use them only as a building block for success.
I often look back upon the fabric of my life, I browse through photographs of people I once knew, I open a box in my cupboard which holds trinkets that once bore so much meaning and significance in my life and I reminisce on days gone by. As we look back we realise how many seasons we have traveled through, how many people have come alongside and then disappeared leaving only our memory of them and how many experiences have collectively shaped the people we are today. I believe none of these experiences have been negative, even though some bore much pain – they also propelled much growth and inspired much wisdom and understanding.
Nostalgia can be one of two things; it can either debilitate us from the future by holding us back in the ‘euphoria of the past’ or it can propel us into the future by using our collective experiences and memories as a springboard to achieve our greatest endeavors, ultimately it is a choice.
Making the ball boys march out and stand in circle in the rain like some pimply praetorian guard for no good reason.
Pointless desolation.
They've removed the awning from the walkway to give the plants in the pavement more light. How considerate.
No Idea what they expected to kick off at the airshow this year...

on a random fine day, you might receive a mysterious phone call from a voice you once opened the gates to at two in the morning, the only texture you could remember is that of that voice coated with your faint memories of every other synchronous beings; you make contact with feigned casualty proffering a semi-professional handshake infusing with hidden lust and visible geniality to much futility of your effort; just like the short stories without answering your biggest concern, or the bed which somehow night after night you never managed to tumble out of even in your deepest of sleep; pointless, this is, they all are;
This ramp is completely fenced off and leads to a blocked off door. It would appear they planned to use it but dropped the idea and just fenced it off. It's my understanding that this ramp once stretched all of the way down from this door "1" to door "11" (some of which are pictured in this photo stream) forming a platform for trains. Much of the platform was removed to plant flowers along the side of the building.
