I took my three dogs to the local waterhole for swimming and play time.
Ronin was useless, Sunni stuck by my side and Kayo was brilliant and worked the ducks perfectly.

Three things that don't go well together with a photo geek in the room. A cat, a laser pointer and a few drinks.
I must tell all your doggies that you must get your mummy's and daddy's to buy very expensive 400 count French Pillowcases. They are so comfy. And they must be down filled!

GN06EEF seen at Tesco's Sheerness. Note the revised livery on the front. There is no cream stripe, and the darker blue does not cover the whole bumper.
I got tired of trying to point out little tiny critters to my dive buddies using a flashlight beam. So, I designed and constructed an underwater laser pointer.
The housing is standard PVC. The front endcap has a disc of plexi slilconed into it. The body tube buts up against the silicone, and is PCV-glued into the endcap. The rear endcap is a standard screw fitting. I tested it to 60 feet deep with nothing but teflon tape and there were no leaks, but I put some silicone in the threads for good measure (I can use strap wrenches to open it up when I need to change batteries).
For the guts, I used a higher-end laser pointer (The dollar-store crap is just too weak for underwater use). I removed the laser module and inserted it into a smaller-diameter PVC tube as a chassis, and replaced with momentary pushbutton switch with magnetic reed switch, glued into a slot in the inner PVC.
I salvaged a battery holder from an LED flashlight that holds 3xAAA batteries, and glued this to the back of the inner PVC. This has the same voltage as the 3xLR44s that were in it initially, while ensuring lots more mAH of power.
Before the rear endcap was put in place, a section of larger PVC with a section removed to allow it to flex was fitted with a rare-earth magnet, and the location of the reed switch was noted with permenant marker on the body tube. Turning the ring with the magnet turns the unit on and off. Thus far, I've had it down to 100+ feet, and no leaks!
I'm taking part in a charity promotional event in Shanghai at the moment for the brand Pointers. We where asked to paint 2 pairs of shoes as we wanted to be then auctioned out to the highest bidder on the 17th (tomorrow). The money is supposed to go to a charity fund raising organisation. Anyways here are my 2 submissions using the Handcan dude that I'm working on.
This laser pointer was turned from a length of aluminium tube for the body and two lengths of solid rod for the end cap and diode holder at the front. 4 AA batteries, wired to give 3v, powers the green 75mw diode. Everything's held in place with grub screws. This took a couple of evenings work to turn up. Ended up fairly heavy and very solid :)
An interesting VW I saw in San Diego. It is a VW pointer, and appears to be a Mexian model, since this is not a US production model. Plus it has Mexi plates :)

Instead of mapping out Metroid Fusion, I just wrote it out in words, using basic directional pointers and hints. This is a guide for somebody who has already beaten the game, my vague directions probably won't help a newcomer. No major skips, low% or 100% stuff here, just the stuff I like to get.
well it was 0 (ZERO) here this morning along with 5" of snow. so I thought something just the opposite would help warm thing up. Keep warm all of you in the Mid-west U.S.
I shot this with a Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens on a Nikon D300. all post processing was done with Capture NX2. Taken at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
Seen travelling along Livesey Branch Road whilst working route 4 from Leyburn Road to Blackburn is TransBus Mini Pointer Dart 706, YJ04 LXN.
Another one I took and didn't post last year as I had something else I was happier with that day, and expected to just retake this one, but never got around to it.
The processing was inspired by a photo I'd seen at the V&A and ended up trying out in this photo, but I actually think it worked a bit better here.
