PT98 has just crested the summit of the former Lackawanna mainline at Pocono Summit. Like many of the communities along the DL main, the Pocono Summit depot still stands, though it looked unused during our fall 2016 visit.

The first winter storm of 2024 didn’t come through peacefully for some parts of Northeastern Pennsylvania. A DL crew works to get the Pocono Main back in service after about 17 inches of heavy, wet snow in the Elmhurst area. (11/23/24)

It had been a long time since I chased the Delaware Lackawanna, and I decided to finally take advantage of a day off and follow all four of their active "bigs" on the Pocono Main.
Here PO-74 comes east through Moscow, PA with a lengthly grain train for Pocono Summit, as well as cars for Tobyhanna and Cresco.
The Pocono Northeast Railway served the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania from 1982 until 1994. Here two EMD switchers (an SW1 and an NW2) obtained from Conrail wait for Monday in the former Lehigh Valley Coxton yard.
Early morning light sliced through the windows of the former Lackawanna Railroad roundhouse on September 29, 2019 as coal smoke filled its cavernous space signalling another day of steam railroading along the former Pocono mainline.
