In addition to the PHEV version, there was also a full electric Clarity as well as a hydrogen fuel cell Clarity (sold in California).
I put up a photo of this tree a few weeks ago that was taken after an ice storm. This was taken after an overnight snowfall. I did some post processing using a free download from ON1 Effects called Perfect Effects Free. It is compatible with Lightroom and Photoshop as a plugin. I used one of the filters called canvas. It seems like a very nice tool.
More of a street photography vibe with these three images, taken whilst wandering around the lower part of Lincoln, near the and or around the University...

This is not a commissioned shot and it is not an advertisement or endorsement of Art Van Furniture (indeed, I've never actually shopped there) but I was struck how like how morning light and reflections make this store in Downers Grove, Illinois come alive. This is a simple 3-shot HDR processed in the Lightroom Photomatix plugin.

Now they call it simply "Brighton Pier", but it was still the Palace Pier when I took this photograph in 1985, on a Bronica ETRS rollfilm camera. I don't know why I chose this particular image to upload, but I've just finished building a new PC and reinstalling all my software, so this is by way of testing the Lightroom installation and flickr plugin. 120T139_Brighton_Palace_Pier_entrance.jpg

The oval New Westminster handstamp (middle row, right) was used as a postal frank until 1864 usually on Express letters and later to cancel postage stamps.
• The double circle GENERAL POST OFFICE / GPO (bottom row, left) was often used as a receiver on the back of covers and was the only dated canceller used in BC until replaced by the dated New Westminster and then in 1871 by the New Westminster PAID to cancel postage stamps.

Just got the new plugin Topaz Adjust version 4, still trying to work out if it's better then version 3, anyway, I played around with it then used Fractalius and changed the background colour ...... and this is it !!!
This evening’s batch of images taken earlier in the year for my Creative 100x project were all processed mainly using Affinity Photo for the iPad. That means no external filters were used and no plugins… I was probably bored on holiday when I did them.
Here are some notes for them:
#82 Rhomboid Dreams - this was taken last February and is based on an in-camera multiple exposure of three ICMs using a vertical movement and two diagonal movements to create the rhombus shapes. I was messing about so it’s been changed quite a bit. The subject was ivy growing on a brick wall taken on on of my walks in the village. The main effect was made using a Black and White adjustment blended with Vivid Light mode and changing the colours with an HSL adjustment layer.
#83 Aegean Blues - this is a straight ICM of the sea using a vertical movement taken at Skiathos at the beginning of May. It was processed to enrich the colours and colour contrast and then I added a fair bit of grain to add to the character of the image. This sort of image (without the grain) is very much the mainstay of many ICM photographers' repertoires. Unfortunately, they are not my favourites and I usually find it difficult to enthuse about them (which makes me feel either odd or guilty… or both!). That’s probably why I haven’t published this one (or the last one) before, and why I felt the need to tinker with it. Ah well…
#84 Vintage Intoxication - another straight ICM taken with a down movement in Skiathos in May (the day before #83!). Go on, guess what it is…
It’s of bottles of wine in the local supermarket backlit against a louvred window. There are about three bottles and most of what you see are the necks, with some labels at the bottom. It was processed with a Gaussian noise layer blended in Hard Mix blend mode and then tinkered with a bit for an abstract effect.
#85 Zoom and Bust - for this one, as straight zoom ICM, we’re back in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford looking at some ancient sculptures in the windows of the main staircase. The result was mainly monochrome so I just tinkered with the colour and corrected the perspective a bit.
#86 Wood Light - another three ICM in-camera multiple exposure taken in the local woods in February, looking West out of the woods into the light. It was straightforward processing again. I was trying to capture some trees - honest!
Thanks for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the random ramble through the back catalogue. Happy Holidays :)

Today I spent a little time putting the new Nikon D5 through its paces - the 10 images shown here represents a cross section of what I took today.
I can say with full assuredness, that this is by far the best camera model on the market (yeah, I know some Canon users are going to get all bent out of shape at that statement, but suck it up).
The autofocus is fast and tracks well in low light and against cluttered backgrounds. At 14 frames per second, it doesn't miss a shot.
All images shown were shot at 3200-4000 ISO. Why? Because I can!!!! What a pleasure to shoot birds at F8-F11 at + 6000th of a second. Now I'm not suggesting that is what I'm going to be shooting at all the time, this was simply a test, and by far, exceeded all my expectations.
All images shot in TIFF mode (have not checked yet to see if there is a Camera Raw plugin for the D5), the camera never buffered out once.

This is a modification I've done to the amazing Unique Grasses plugin by Tamu75. I love that plugin but I've always wanted a grass mod with better FPS, and as beautiful as Tamu's version of grass is, I felt it was lacking in just adding basic grasses to the mix, so I've incorporated unbelievable grass into this plugin, as well as some SFO plants, especially in the marsh region. I've also used the very simple GoS tweak of adding tons of grasses into the game: these pictures are shot with imingrasssize=60, and this isn't even all the grasses I've incorporated, since I realized I only had 8 textures when there are 15. More to come soon.

How To Use VirtualPhotographer - I hope this will help anyone fairly new to photography and are wondering about how to post-process a photo to give a dramatic monochrome look using free software (apps). I took the original colour photo with my Panasonic Lumix LF1 compact camera back in April 2016, I’m using the original as example of what you can do with the free VirtualPhotographer plugin. I use this with IrfanView. I have detailed the steps I used to go from the “as taken” image to the above black & white image, you can download the how to do it in PDF here: app.box.com/s/ol8gpm1vz483t751n3qkse7x4502aewt
