Looks like a bookbag on this kid's back. But even Spiccoli, at Ridgmont High, didn't dress for school like this.
After the intense list making yesterday--not to mention the deep depression which settled over us upon reviewing the pages of lists--Space Man suggested we take today off to enjoy the sunny autumn weather.
After a few minutes Space Man started to wonder where he had put his mittens....It's getting a bit chilly.
I went to the first plenary of my conference this morning and realized that I have no use for an hour and a half long session on cataloging digitized Medieval Manuscripts at the moment. Hanging out in my nicely air conditioned hotel room, much better.
We haven't been spending much time together lately and it's been putting a strain on our relationship. Monday we both played hooky, just to spend the day hanging out with each other.
He brought this necklace back from his recent trip as a gift for me.
Photo taken by Mike, processed by me.

This was taken minutes after I turned to Ian and said "This kid is gonna FREAK in about five minutes once he tries to get down". The kid is also quoted as saying "AGAIN! AGAIN!" once he was safely back on land.
Our car started to swing wildly back and forth as it is meant to do. Still, it does give one pause. How many people have been injured on theme park rides???
This kid's parents thought it'd be cute to perch their wee lad up on the tree for a picture. At first the kid was game but I could tell he was getting a little weirded out after a minute. Mom kept insisting on taking the "perfect picture".

You can reserve a paddleboat online but Ian poo-pooed the notion saying "Nobody's gonna be down there today!". WELL, don't listen to me, she who drives past the mall every single day on her way to work. I've been watching the mayhem -and my commute time - grow for the past few weeks. The line might not look like a lot but this was taken from the very end.
