Captured in September 2020. Today Glasgow remains in level 3 lockdown restrictions with a high level of the B1.617.2 variant of coronavirus dominant in the area. Although I have had both vaccine doses the advice is to avoid travel to and from Glasgow unless absolutely necessary. It will be a while yet before I consider it safe enough for street photography to resume for me. Stay safe everyone!

It couldn't decide Friday night whether it was going to rain or not, but the play of light and clouds driving along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park (our "backyard playground") was pretty incredible.

This Tawny Owl was playing peekaboo with me from behind the tree it was hiding behind. I don't often find them out in the daytime so it's always a treat to come across one. This one has rather rufous plumage, though some are rather grey like this: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/49970734671/in/photolist In the earliest British bird books they were thought to be different species. Some books still refer to them as rufous and grey phase Tawny Owls but this is wrong as a phase is a transitional plumage, and Tawny Owls are rufous or grey throughout their life. So rufous or grey morph would be a better way to describe them. The same is true for pale and dark morph Arctic Skuas, they are not phases.

Some fog stuff can get interesting, when you start to play with colors. The serenity is given by calm shape and colors and by harmony in composition. And from common picture of random forest can be created something interesting by simple manipulation. This is obviously an edit, but how does it matter? Is this closer to what the mind see?
