It's time for the next Ostkreuz photo, isn't it? This is platform A, probably the most romantic S-Bahn platform of Berlin, very lonely, very quiet. They said that a family of foxes lives there. The left of the two stairways upwards is closed already, so there is just one entry and exit. And only one train in 20 minutes stops there.

This platform will be torn down completely and not rebuilt, so take your chance while it lasts.

The platforms at Bad Bentheim are moved to standard height. Interestingly they block the entry doors on the platform. Some more rebuilding is needed here.

Liège-Guillemins train station is the main station of the city of Liège, the third biggest city in Belgium. It is one of the most important hubs in the country and is one of the 3 Belgian stations on the high-speed rail network. The station is used by 36,000 people every day.

The new station by the architect Santiago Calatrava was officially opened on September 18, 2009 with a show by Franco Dragone. It has 9 tracks and 5 platforms (three of 450m and two of 350m). All the tracks around the station have been modernized to allow high speed arrival and departure.

The new station is made of steel, glass and white concrete. It includes a monumental arch, 160 metres long and 32 metres high. The building costs were € 312 million.

Platform 1 at Bury St. Edmunds is served by trains from Ipswich. With Stowmarket 14.5 miles away by rail and Ely 24.5 miles and also Cambridge 29.75 miles away by rail why is Platform 1 not facing London by the quickest route?
