Holly stands 211 feet tall and sits about two miles off shore over the South Ellwood Oil Field, pumping oil from 32 wells. Holly was built in 1966 by ARCO, sold to Mobil in 1993, and subsequently to Venoco in 1997. Holly has been inactive since the Refugio Oil Spill in May 2015 (ruptured oil pipeline). In April 2017, Venoco filed for bankruptcy and decommissioned the platform, which is now owned by the State of California. Whether or not the platform gets completely dismantled isn't clear at this point; but the days of oil production in state waters off the coast of Goleta appear to be over (even though California and the Federal Government are at odds regarding oil production in state waters off the California Coast (there's 15 active platforms in federal waters off the Santa Barbara County's coast: www.sbcountyplanning.org/energy/maps/map_with_projects.asp)).

This is the Ragnarok Artillery platform that shoots a massive slug capable of nuclear stopping power. The platform it is on allows the turret to rotate 360 degrees and can shoot straight up in the air. Also it adjust to the terrain it is on thanks to special piston powered platform adjusters and the grips which dig into the ground to elevate and steady this machine. The loading mechanism is different then most, the user only has to load the bullet onto the tray instead of straight into the machine. Once loaded on the tray it is then push up into place and the handle turned to the side to lock it in place keeping the bullet from sliding out. On the side of the gun there is a safety lock there in case the gun gets jammed which it will activate automatically thanks to its jamming detection system or can be manually pressed if must. It is also mostly made of carbon making it quite light and easy to transport.
Another try at 0.7 hope you guys like it :P (I know the description sucks was kinda tried writing it lol)

This is an invitation to participate in the call for entries at a new exhibition space called PLATFORM, designed for young upcoming artists around the world. Based on an online submission process, PLATFORM does not require artists to pay submission fees or ship physical art objects creating an opportunity for artists to participate regardless of their location or resources.
PLATFORM opens the possibility for a cultural exchange between upcoming artists working on similar subjects and media, creates a network between artists and community members gives participating artists a chance to have an international show on their resumes, and offers them an opportunity to be part of the University of California, Santa Barbara PLATFORM permanent archive.
Please visit our website for further information on how to submit your work: www.ihc.ucsb.edu/platform
The first PLATFORM show is entitled “SNARLED MEGALOPOLIS”.
SNARLED MEGALOPOLIS
Visions of the Emerging Face of Megacities
DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 15 /2010
This exhibition collects artists’ visualizations of vertiginously growing megacities, with their impulsive structures and grids. Featuring the work of fourteen individual artists from around the world, Snarled Megalopolis will explore a wide range of urban configurations — slum, favela, comuna, barrio de invación, taudis, shantytown.
This exhibition gathers art pieces based on unplanned urban growth of different megacities, showing how these spaces reflect and shape local political, cultural, and religious practices, and focusing on the common configuration of the urban grid.

Sob.

We're taking a new approach to how we perform critical inspection and maintenance of subway components that are necessary to providing reliable service -- FASTRACK. The third implementation of FASTRACK is taking place on the Sixth Avenue B/D/F/M Line from 57 Street to W 4 Street from Feb. 27 to March 2, 2012. Because a section of the subway is closed to trains for seven consecutive hours, FASTRACK is a safer and more efficient way to maintain and clean New York City's sprawling subway — a system that never closes.
With no trains running along Sixth Avenue, 800 MTA employees are able to inspect signals, replace rails and cross ties, scrape track floors, clean stations and paint areas that are not reachable during normal train operation. Workers also took the opportunity to clean lighting fixtures, change bulbs and repair platform edges while performing high-intensity station cleaning.
