An early morning view of one part of this station taken from another part of it. Several subway lines interconnect at this station. To the back of the camera is a subway maintenance yard. We are viewing the J&Z lines platform from the L-line platform. The covered superstructure with the windows is a passageway from the L line to the J&Z lines. This station has a 3rd subway level underground reachable by a long escalator.
Or is it platform 2?

With an RMT strike on this day causing the independent freight lines by-passing Crewe to be closed, trains were passing through the station. DB Cargo Class 66/0 No. 66013 heads south with 4Z21, the 10:18 Trafford Park – Southampton Western Docks lightly loaded intermodal on 3rd January 2023.
Finally... here it is... this is my own personal favourite image from my recent photographic workshop in the Banff National Park... it's a seven-image panorama of Peyto Lake at sunset.
I remember this particular evening very well. We were undecided as to where the best place to shoot the sunset would be. Although Peyto Lake is not really an ideal location for sunsets... we were in the area... and the best alternative was a small mosquito-infested pond in the middle of a large marshy field. I voted for Peyto Lake... and so did most of the others! :)
By the time we arrived at the Peyto Lake car park... the place was deserted. That meant that we'd have the viewing platforms all to ourselves... with plenty of space to setup and shoot the best compositions without getting in everyone else's way! But while the view from either of the two platforms is pretty darn amazing... it's exactly the same view that you always see in photographs... offering very little opportunity for a unique composition.
Then someone suggested that we follow another footpath up the hill to get above the treeline... that would offer us a view of the lake that very few people get to see and photograph. "Yeah, that sounds great", I said... but which hill are you talking about!? All I could see behind me were huge, towering mountains!
We started hiking up the path as the sun moved behind the mountain peaks... damn... how long was the hike going to take, I wondered... would we make it before it got completely dark? After thirty minutes (or so) of huffing and puffing and sweating like a pig... I finally made it to the top of the "hill" that they were talking about.
Wow... what an incredible view... this was more spectacular than anything I'd ever seen before in my life... I simply had to shoot this as a panorama... and quickly... before the clouds lost their orange colour!
This is how I managed to capture the scene... it might not look very impressive here on Flickr... but it looks amazing when viewed on my huge LCD screen... and I bet it will look incredible when I have it printed and framed on my wall!
So... although I am totally besotted (in love) with this particular Peyto Lake panorama... I do also realise that not everyone will agree with my choice. If you feel that I have posted another image that appeals to you more than this one... I would LOVE to hear your opinion. Please DO take the time to browse my Banff 2011 Flickr set... and PLEASE tell me... which is YOUR favourite image?
I still have a couple of photos from my Banff trip which I feel are good enough to post… but I’ll be taking a short break from Flickr now… I’ll post those when I return in a week or two. :)
Have a great weekend everyone!!

This was taken at Haeundae Beach in Busan, S. Korea. The majority of the time I was there, it was gray and cloudy...on our way out, the skies opened up and the clouds looked soft and fluffy. A perfect opportunity to take this shot.
MK station. Unusually for me a snap with my phone, but one I couldn’t resist…no prizes for guessing why!

Almost inconspicuous in the undergrowth on the LHS is the decaying wooden body of a former CR or NBR box van. I'm sure I've ID'd it before but it escapes me...

Gorgeous Tampa Bay Florida Kayaking & Boating Sunset Scene - IMRAN™
This photo was taken as part of a panorama I had created (see www.flickr.com/photos/imrananwar/50343562056/ ). It was a gorgeous scene as this sport-cruiser type boat passed in front of my blessed home. It was crossing in front of a magical scene of seaside sunset serenity. You will also see kayakers in the background.

after not finding anything for a few weeks, today i purchased a vintage nelson slat bench. this 72 incher, while not the largest ever produced, matches the largest reproduction that herman miller still produces. from hermanmiller.com:
"'Introduced in 1946 the Nelson platform bench was part of George Nelson's first collection for Herman Miller and still stands as a benchmark of modern design. Like much of Nelson's work, the platform bench has clean, rectilinear lines, reflecting his architectural background and his insistence on what he calls "honest" design--that is, making an honest visual statement about an object's purpose.
As presented in the 1948 Herman Miller furniture catalog, the platform bench "is primarily a high base for deep and shallow cases, but it also serves as a low table for extra seating." The 1955 catalog states that the bench "has proved to be one of the most flexible and useful units in the collection." The bench was reintroduced in 1994.'"

Seen at dusk at Maghull Station on the Merseyrail network of lines that radiate out of Liverpool. A Class 507 EMU; they are nearly 40 years old and are to be replaced by new EMU's from Swiss firm Stadler in around 3 years. I liked the way the train is out of focus nearest to the camera but in focus further back. It was not travelling as fast though as the photo seems to indicate.
