Who doesn't love garlic in any form. It's good together with spices, as a taster, as a sauce and yes even as raw.
Here is a close up of a garlic clove.
Happy MM!
Some studies have found that hibiscus tea may lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure. However, to prevent an interaction, it should not be taken in combination with blood pressure medications.
Animal studies have found that hibiscus extract has antioxidant properties. Additional studies are needed to determine how this may translate to humans.
Some studies have shown that hibiscus tea may reduce blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels in those with diabetes and metabolic syndrome. However, other studies have produced conflicting results. More research is needed in the general population
I eat these chia seeds basically everyday and feel amazed on how small they are and how beautiful these incredible marbles-details look as a macro.
Hope you enjoy it!! :)
Happy MM
Did I trick you for a minute thinking it would be about humans? This is a plant, a bit of a prickly popsicle that looks quite delicious to me considering I eat a plant based diet. So, right after I take macro photos of plants, I pretty much scream, "You look delicious!" right in their faces, which is probably pretty intimidating. Also, cactus is especially delicious when you remove the thorns and saute it with seasonings. Chicago doesn't have a ton of it, unfortunately, or fortunately for them because I'd probably spend all day pointing at the desert going, "I'm going to eat you...! And you! And you!"
Anyway, eat your veggies!

In Omaha, Nebraska. We stopped here for lunch and had the nachos mole & turki club. Got it to go and enjoyed it on a bench in the park across the street while listening to live violin music. It was a great break from the road!
We’ve been wanting to visit this vegan restaurant since it opened and finally did today! We got mozzarella sticks and two burgers (the Superbad and Up In Smoke), plus a freshly squeezed strawberry lemonade. The burgers came with the best waffle fries we’ve ever had. It was great to eat at a vegan restaurant again. It’s been a while!
I add the vinegar before eating not while cooking
Bread croutons can be used in place for the Quinoa. I also make this soup in a raw version (blender only). I don’t use oil then
We stopped in here for a breakfast sandwich and hash browns. SO good! I love how colorful it was inside & out and the server was extremely friendly & upbeat. We would definitely eat here again if we go back to the area.
We had the patio area all to ourselves at Fern’s Diner and sat at a picnic table that looked out over the river below us.
Located at the base of Pike’s Peak, this vegan restaurant serves fantastic food! We had the cheese curds, brunch wrap, and patty melt. All were delicious!
Piante was the 25th vegan restaurant we’ve eaten at (all 25 restaurants are in 8 states) and it was definitely a meal to remember! The weather was perfect, we dined outside with a view of the mountains, and the meal itself was perfection. We started with wood fired stuffed mushrooms, then Mike had the The Finley cheesesteak sandwich and I had the Piante salad (best salad I’ve ever had). We hope to get a chance to go back and try one of their pizzas someday.
Update- they are no longer a fully vegan restaurant as of 2025. Such a shame!
Our pepper plants are doing very well this year! So far we’ve pickled four large jars of banana peppers, one jar of jalapeños, and made eight bottles of hot sauce (mostly fresno peppers with some jalapeño & banana thrown in). We’ve also used them for cooking quite a bit.
The cucumbers have been the same. We’ve had so many that we’ve been giving a lot of them away. It’s been great having fresh veggies!
We stopped here on our way home to have a late lunch/early dinner. It’s been two years since we’ve been here last and since it’s our favorite restaurant, we were very excited to eat here again! They had indoor dining, but we’re not at that comfort level yet despite being fully vaccinated, so we got it to go and ate in the van. Mike had the Italian Beef (plus beer to bring home) and I had a Quesadilla Burger. All vegan and 100% delicious!

I made a few swaps / additions...feel free to experiment!
We had a great little table outside to dine at Piante Pizzeria, looking toward the mountains.

I had this for dinner & for lunch the next day and it was deliciously satisfying. I used tahini sauce as salad dressing, my absolute all-time favourite !
The falafel balls are made of chickpeas, sweet potato and lots of spices pulsed in a food processor. Rolled into small balls and turned in sesame seeds. Baked in 240°C for about 30 minutes. Yummy !
