My cat, Loraine, laying on several swatches of raw lamb's wool. She's a small cat, and the wool seemed to swallow her right up! Stylized in Post Production to give it a 3-D look.
There is no smell without breath, sound becomes muffled, a murky taste lingers as fading light steals away vision, cold encompasses.

I've redone an older wallpaper to keep up with ever increasing monitor sizes.
The previous version was:
An Irish Rail evening Commuter service from Maynooth to Dublin seen from under Louisa Bridge in Leixlip. The water in the foreground is the Royal Canal.
Louisa Bridge has two arches, this one over the Royal Canal, and another one across the Dublin - Mullingar railway line. There is a railway station called after the bridge located directly to the East of it (this shot is looking West).
The train is an Irish Rail class 29000 DMU.
This shot was generated by tonemapping a single RAW image twice using Photmatix Pro, once concentrating on the inside of the bridge, and once on the outside, and then merging the two resulting versions together using layer masks in Pixelmator.
Inspiration: haiku..
..a once mighty oak,
....towering king of the forest,
......now bows to cedars
View Large On Black Viewing larger you clearly see the oak branches coming down to the cedars.
(Note: There are many interesting subjects on our land but this dead oak tree is by far my most favorite to photograph. From some angles it reminds me of a crucifix with Jesus, others an Ent from LOTR, and sometimes it seems to be in motion like its walking. It reminds me of the Mona Lisa as her eyes follow you as you walk by; this tree seems to walk with you as you walk by it. I have seen owls and hawks perched atop it as well as cardinals and mockingbirds. I will be sad when it finally collapses but, who knows, it still may outlast me.)
Photographer Notes: tripod, 3 exposures at +/-2ev, f8. Raw processing via capture NX, photomatix magic, Pixelmator layers, selective masking and clean up, Aperture levels, edge sharpening, noise reducation, black point processing and border.

This piece is about the human journey. We all travel through life, and sometimes wonder about what defines us, what makes us happy, what holds us back. I've recently given this a whole lot of thought, particularly about what keeps me from achieving my goals... this piece is about that self exploration.
All Along the Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."
"No reason to get excited," the thief, he kindly spoke,
"There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we've been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late."
All along the watchtower, princes kept the view
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.
Outside in the distance a wildcat did growl,
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl
(Bob Dylan)
