As a personality and someone's passions are hard to get into one portrait, this way seemed to be a neat way
Hereios : I hate it when that happens
I found myself with a little time in the hotel this morning to fine tune this image I've been working.
Quite a contrast between the old Royal Hawaiian Hotel on Waikiki Beach and the new 18 floor Waikiki Business Plaza going up at far right. The WBP is across Kalakaua Avenue from the Royal Hawaiian, between Seaside Avenue and Duke’s Lane. Vintage but undated and severely red-shifted Pana-Vue souvenir slide, color corrected using Pixelmator Pro.
Photo details
- 1927 Royal Hawaiian Hotel, center
- 1964 Waikiki Business Plaza and Top of Waikiki revolving restaurant, far right

Ferns & flowers (white) painted in previous Procreate painting from photo & fake flowers, purple & green flower parts from 17th c. botanical print extracted using Superimpose, white flower linear design from parts of old wallpaper (out of print) that I scanned, girl from one of my many iOS photos of willing students which I usually disguise in different ways; e.g. Photoshop Fix, pixelmator, Snapseed. All combined in IColorama on iPad Pro with many parts retinted, masked, & photo manipulated in various ways. Just a fun lil ditty to pass the time between teaching classes yesterday. Wanted to show my art students different legit sources of things that can be incorporated into an iPad creation & intro to various apps to use. Done on my iPad Pro 12.9" & 🍎pencil.
Roadside view of M’s Ranch House Restaurant out on Kalanianaole Highway at West Hind Drive, Aina Haina, Honolulu. I remember going there once in the mid 1960s. Why didn't I think to take some pictures?? Vintage but undated and badly faded Ansco Color transparency, lightly corrected in Pixelmator Pro. Early 1950s based on the cars.
There's a large Longs Drugs on the site today:

thankyou #4, pixelmator and the internet.
All the old paintings on the tombs
They do the sand dance don't you know
If they move too quick (oh whey oh)
They're falling down like a domino
(and thanks to The Bangles for the ear worm)
(Edited version - Adobe Lightroom and Pixelmator)
Third and final? image from my shoot on 26 May. I took several shots in an effort to try and get a bumble bee in flight approaching a poppy and close to it. Hard to get the bee and the flower both in focus simultaneously specially in windy conditions. Many failures and this one probably the best of my efforts but the bee still not really sharp enough for my liking. Nevertheless I'm sharing it.

It's been a while since my first two novels 'Dancing Devil' and 'Riding the spine' have been released - So, why not presenting a new novel? ;))
...and be assured, it's only about the birds and the bees... :P
