Pixels Stick Fun Evening @ Plymouth & District Photography Club. Getting the focus and exposure right is a challenge then The post processing offers endless editing options, but none are used here other than adding contrast, a tad of colour and cleaning up the image?

The above image is a scan from an original Kodachrome™ slide. The default size is 2000 x 1250 pixels, so clicking on the photo will enlarge it for better viewing.

The original image comes from my slide collection, amassed over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and ones acquired over those years.

I created this Photostream in 2017 for the purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, as otherwise they would just remain in binders and boxes, not being enjoyed by anyone, myself included.

Comments are welcome.

Latest incarnation of my software to make every pixel a different RGB, this one works from the centre out. I have overlaid the result with some edge-detection lines to give the result a bit of depth.

The pixels under the lines are each 9.1% of the whole in each of the hues: red, orange, yellow, yellow-green, green, cyan, blue, purple, brown and neutral grey. This picture at full size is 12585401 pixels, thus 75.01% of the full possible 16777216 at 24-bit depth.

Location: Petticoat Lane, London.

The image above is a 2000 X 1250 pixel scan from an original slide. Anything that is not from an original Kodachrome™ is noted as such, including later digital images and a limited number of scanned prints. The vast majority of Kodachrome™ shots were scanned during the period 2007-2014. As of 2022, there remains thousands of scanned, and unscanned images yet to go.

Early uploads were done in a 1024 X 683 pixel size. Since then, technology and software has improved, so I am beginning to re-upload in the much larger 2000 X 1250 pixel size, with the eventual goal of having only that format.

The images in the various galleries come mostly from my slide collection, gathered over the past 40+ years. They are a combination of my own photographs and others acquired over those years through trading, purchasing, and attending conventions.

This photostream was created in 2017 for the sole purpose of holding my slide collection as an archive, and has had over 10 million image views (to 2022)

I was riding along the trail on my way home when I decided I had to circle back to take photos of the Center bathed in late-afternoon light. I would rather have not got the boat lift in the frame at the right, but I did want the plant in the foreground, so... compromise.

just a little practice on pixel art, it is 64x64 pixels and if you ppl like it, I might do one for each pilot and make a photo with the minifig and pixel side by side

Continuing the theme of the development of the entertainment industry, the first games, game consoles, I would like to remember how much fun and new it was. When we bought the cartridge and wanted to see exactly what developers were offering us. And in a huge list of games, we searched for the coolest, most exciting ones.

In those days, the animated screen saver was sometimes better than the game itself, but nevertheless we enjoyed controlling the pixel characters, researching, solving puzzles, moving from one level to another. The world we'd never seen was now on our screens.
