Throughout history, Scotsmen have gone to war led by a Pipe Major playing his Great Bagpipe. His job was to help his unit mates to understand, in the chaos of the battlefield, where they were supposed to be and stay together.
Sometimes the pipe major was used to deceive and confuse the enemy regarding the unit’s whereabouts, and occasionally he would just play out loud to annoy the enemy.
Pipe Smokers… As I crossed the road the unmistakable aroma wafted my way from a nearby bench. Definitely not sickly smelling vape juice. At last, another pipe smoker! It’s been ages since I encountered the last one. Who’d have thought they would be so elusive. This is Steve, a local chap, who, some time ago, lived just feet away from my current abode. Like all the others I have met so far, he’s a fine friendly fellow, happy to chat, and happy to sit there while I pointed a camera at him. Steve reckons that pipe smokers are generally happier, easy going folk, partly due to the fact that they take time to stop, sit, fill that bowl and watch the world go by. Reminds me of that famous line of poetry - “What is life if so full of care, we have no time to stop and stare…”
Alberta pipe bombs rolling east, the diesel is actually the end of this train and coincidently this is the lake bed of the ancient glacial Lake Agassiz
" Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake, he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best, the west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest "

The Pipe Nebula (formed by Barnard 59, 65–67, and 78 dark nebule) is a large dark nebula in the Ophiuchus constellation and a part of the Dark Horse Nebula.
Taken from Works ''S'' 6th time here and 5 successes this time the secca caught me with my head hanging out the window in a gas mask trying to line up a shot.
An alternate choice for Macro Monday.

Back Story ............
Arrived early at The Dog Palace to find Mama & Mr Brown waiting as usual by the old rusty gate.
After we said our hellos breakfast was served.
Soon after a trek through The DMZ took place with no issues at all.
Crossed over into The Leroy Crews turf and fed TG, GF & Leroy.
Hung out with Leroy & tourists shooting a few monkeys then went back over to pickup The Browns.
Circled out the back way crossing the concrete walking bridge with Mama & Mr B in tow.
Next photo shows the primates eating papayas, Mama is sitting right next to me while shooting , Mr B is sitting behind us on guard duty.
Couple hours had passed and it was time to take off for the pipe puppies.... ;-)
.
When I pulled in it took a little bit to prepare their food.
As you can see they have a new tin that acts as a bowel
keeping most of the food in one place.
Knowing the puppies would jump into the bowel and scatter
their food all over the place this work quite well .
Today "8" puppies appeared from their hiding place but their mom still cautious only popped her head out.
Just before my departure I was able to touch her nose once again. She does look to be in poor health. Ill work on that... ;-)
Thank You.

Hungarian Smoking Pipe
This pipe was my Father's Father's pipe and was brought over from Hungary when he immigrated. It is at least 100 years old.
