This meerschaum pipe belonged to my grandfather. The stem, which is real amber and carries a monogrammed band, is damaged and needs to be replaced. If anyone knows anything about pipe repair, I'd love to know about it.

We found this strange looking pipe in the West Village, at the corner of Bedford Street and Grove Street, which happens to be the location of the fictional home of the characters from the television show Friends. Not the pipe… the building across the street. No, I am not that hardcore a fan to know such an obscure fact, but stumbled upon this anecdote while googling the streets. I thought some of you would be interested… you know who you are :-)
I am still not entirely sure what this is… whether it serves a specific function, is an art piece or a mix of both. If anybody has an idea, please enlighten me. Regardless of its purpose, I loved its whimsical, curvy shapes and glossy black which contrasted with the straighter lines and matte white of the building. Whoever designed this was certainly creative.

the pumphouse building on Hulls long derelict & mainly demolished St Andrew's Dock, the place oozes atmosphere as nature slowly reclaims what is hers.
This was taken a week before the building mysteriously 'spontaneously combusted'
St Andrews dock was once home to Hulls deep sea fishing fleet & where the fish was landed & distributed.
There is an ongoing debate on what the land will be used for, many feel strongly on this issue as 'Fish Dock' as it was known was a huge part of Hulls history & fishing Heritage,
the story continues...

Fue un desafió creativo bastante grande, hablamos de un artista conocido a nivel internacional, por tanto su imagen es algo mucho mas que importante. Después de realizar un estudio y de disfrutar de su música, llegue a la idea de colocar la guitarra como base de la pagina, es algo que al artista le gusta destacar y la finalidad es crear algo acorde con el y que guste al publico.
Inside this church in Quedlinberg, Germany there is an old pipe organ that has been refinished. The thing is that it's not been overly refinished. You see, it's tradition that here, each organ player since the 1600's has carved their name into the wall boards. The pipe organ still works, and it's stil played on sundays and for concerts.
I wonder how many generations of players would look at us today - with our hip hop mass produced music and wonder what happened.
2006 Quedlinberg Germany, an UNESCO world heritage site. Castle started in about 900 AD, but town has buildings that are all from the middle ages. They're mostly restored and this is where I discovered many joys.
