An award winning beer, a strong, satisfying ale, wonderfully warming and full of complex flavours, which create an intriguing beer of great character.
This dark beer with a reddish tinge, derived from the use of coloured malts, perfectly balanced with specially formulated brewing sugars and English aromatic hops.
First introduced in 1990 as a winter warmer, Jennings Sneck Lifter has become a firm favourite in the portfolio.
In northern dialect sneck means door latch and a sneck lifter was a man’s last sixpence which enabled him to lift the latch of a pub door and buy himself a pint, hoping to meet friends there who might treat him to one or two more.
Sneck Lifter has won Bronze award in the International Cask Ale competition at the Brewing Industry International Awards 2011. It was in the class 4 for cask ale 4.9% - 6.9% ABV Receiving a Bronze at the 2005 Brewing Industry International Awards held in Munich. A gold award was received in 2009 and a bronze award in this years International Beer Challenge.
I stopped at the Pint House on Burnet Road in Austin for a quick pint of Ballast Point Sculpin after walking the hike and bike trail taking photos today.

Esta serie de Vilassar de Mar, va dedicada a art_es_anna por el cariño que veo tiene a esta hermosa población del Maresme Espero que le guste. Pintor llevando al lienzo una típica y bonita calle del barrio antiguo del pueblo de Vilassar de Mar.

Interesantes estructuras de hormigón, que me recuerdan la base de submarinos de la Kriegsmarine en Saint Nazaire, debajo mismo de la torre de refrigeración en la antigua Central Térmica de Fígols y Cercs en el Berguedà de Catalunya, el moho y el crecimieno de la vegetación ha llenado todo el lugar, gruesas paredes con importantes aberturas forman un mundo muy especial, son algunos detalles que apasionan de Pintar, en ellos encuentro algunas de las esencias de las contrucciones humanas transformadas en recuerdos de otros tiempos más florecientes. Pintura con acuarelas íntimas del artista pintor Ernest Descals sobre papel de 50 x70 centímetros.

Una preciosa cafetería en medio del bosque de HIGHGATE WOOD, LONDRES, UK, una magnífica arquitectura londinense en el antiguo edificio que alberga la cafetería y restaurante entre muchos árboles, sentado en las mesas de madera de su terraza exterior me dispongo a Pintar con las acuarelas en mi libreta de viaje, las escaleras de entrada al recinto, torreones y tejados son los protagonistas de la pintura, bastante frío en Enero, pero vale la pena el pequeño sacrificio por estar pintando al aire libre en esta especial atmósfera. Fotos del artista pintor Ernest Descals en el trabajo que engloba el paisajismo y que me hecho mi hijo Jan.

Bicho raro entre los artistas chilenos, Couve fue un dogmático escritor realista y un influyente pintor seducido por la mancha. Fue también un intenso obsesionado con la belleza que, agotado del ruido de la ciudad, se instaló en Cartagena a mediados de los 70. Apenas se asomaba por Santiago para dar clases. Separado, padre de una hija, el autor de La lección de pintura vivió acosado por una depresión que en el verano de 1998 no le dejó salida. Lentamente, se aisló del mundo. En sus últimos días, su única compañía era su perro, el Moro, y por supuesto, Carlos Ormeño. “No te olvides, Carlitos -le dijo antes de quitarse la vida-, yo muero por el arte”.
Luis Poirot es uno de los fotógrafos más destacados de nuestro país, maestro de generaciones y un vigente cultor de la fotografía análoga. Hoy está en el Centro Cultural de Las Condes, con una muestra de cámara, íntima y llena de nostalgia. Se trata de Revisión de archivo. Fotografías 1964-1973, una selección hecha por el propio fotógrafo, de retratos realizados en ese período -algunos de ellos inéditos- en los que posan desde actores del Teatro Ictus, pasando por personajes anónimos, hasta figuras históricas como Pablo Neruda y Salvador Allende.
“Son imágenes para combatir el olvido y dedicadas en especial a quienes no vivieron esos años”, señala Poirot, sobre aquellas fotografías que escogió, en un largo proceso, de un material compuesto inicialmente por cerca de sesenta mil negativos. Todos los retratos corresponden a retratos realizados desde que vuelve a Chile -luego de cursar estudios de teatro en Francia- y se dedica exclusivamente a la fotografía, hasta el momento que debe abandonar el país y vuelve a Europa.
