1.5 carats, natural pink sapphire. The color is nice, though I think it could stand to be just a little more pink (on reflection, I don't think I should have photographed it over a gray surface), and the cut is good. I bought it at a Stuller workshop in Lafayette. It was heavily discounted because it was the last day of the workshop and this stone was on a table with stones of odd sizes. I showed it after we left the workshop to a woman who is a JTV gem-shopping fanatic and she started wailing, "where was that table? I didn't see that table!" Just as well or she might have gotten in the habit of buying nice stones rather than gray tanzanites and diamonds that look like frozen spit.
