It's already the 23rd of July where I am at the moment, and exactly one year ago I joined Flickr. This 1st year has been really tremendous for me. And I met so many wonderful photographers and individuals here and they became my friends, with whom I shared not only photography, and tips and tricks, but also joys and pains. I'd like to THANK all of YOU again for your friendship and sweetness, and all the rest, and I am looking forward to be a friend of yours in the coming year on Flickr too! Thank you for your tips, and critics, and I have learned so much from many of you, and am so grateful for it.
The capture above is part of a new project of mine in which I try to combine the beauty of flowers with the beauty of gems, and think I am on the right way with it. I love new things, and things that are born in my imagination before practicing it. What are you thoughts in regards, and the most important thing for me is, do you find it my kind of art? :)
Huge {{{HUGS}}} and kisses from me to all of you's and thank you all again...
I believe in happily ever after.
When my ex husband left me the day after my 30th birthday, after 15 years together, I thought that marriage and me were finished. Alan made me believe in 'happily ever after' again.
Our wedding rings are engraved with the date of our wedding and the sentiment of hope that we both have for our future together:
XXIII~VIII~MMVII...And They Lived Happily Ever After...
It's my mam and dad's 37th wedding anniversary today, I hope that we're as happy as they are in 36 1/2 years time!
"What do you mean you don't love me?
How could you NOT love me?
I'll make you love me!!!
Hey, let go, let me go!
Stop, let go of me!!"
I've shown no such restrain in creating this luscious cuff.
Contemporary Striped Italian Dupioni Silk features a Venetian Satin Rose embellished with TONS of sparkly Glass Cubes and a delish trim of Faux Pearls upon Brass. Flirty ruffles to the left are composed from a blend of Velvet Chiffon Prints paired with Black Scalloped Lace.
Signature touches of rock queen chains adorn a king's ransom of gems namely Pink Topaz Bell Chandeliers, Labradorites, Mystic Pink Amethyst Briolettes, exquisite Pink Sapphires and utterly droolworthy Mystic Pink Amethyst Briolettes.
To left and right sides, more chains drape in a seemingly random fashion but WAIT, when viewed from the side, they form sexy structured loops [see bottom right image in Picture 3]. Gotcha!! Yet more chains cavort amidst a decadent frou frou hem of Black Lace to complete this opulent confection.
Equally luxe on the inside, this wristwrapper has been lined with new Taffeta. She measures 7" wide by 7.5" in height, and secures with hooks/eyes affixed to Grosgrain straitjacket-esque straps (hence the name) that are totally adjustable. Having said that, she best suits wrists measuring no smaller than 6", ensuring a comfy, snug fit.
STRAITJACKET FOR A STRUMPET is seamless as clearly evidenced from the pictures, with the exception of selected portions that have been intentionally prettied-up with fancy stitches.
All fabrics and findings used in Sheela Goh Couture designs (unless indicated otherwise) are truly antique, with some bits being over 100 years old. Seriously. So please, do wear her with care and respect.
OOAK.
Dry clean only.
Stitched entirely by hand, with needle and thread.

Echoing the bird's colors of dark green, yellow, purple, blue and pink, I used Pink Sapphires, Peridot and Emerald Rondelles with teeny tiny 1.5mm Seed Pearls as well as 925 Sterling Silver Beads to form the wing. Lie it flat and you'll note that it's puffed up, 3D, like a real bird's wing. There are even 2 rows of Peridot and Pink Sapphires on the top of the head area to serve as the crest.
Underneath the elaborate wing was some abstract crochet whirls, more Peridot, Pink Sapphires, Pearls amd 925 Sterling Silver Beads dance gaily along Birdie's body with a majorly contrasting 24K Gold Fluted Bead for an eye. He's got to be able to see to ogle his new owner, yes?
The piece de resistance?
An exquisite flutterby atop the wing fashioned from FLAWLESS Polished Kyanite Teardrops, Smooth Emerald Teardrops and the most petite Aquamarine Briolettes ever.
Sapphire Nuggets link Birdie Likes Spring as more Rondelles flutter over and around Vintage Blue Enamel Chains. Peer closer and you'll see that the left cluster has Pink Sapphires and Emeralds whilst the right has Peridots and more Pink Sapphires.
I like.
Each week, members of The Wire Artisans Guild come together to pick and work upon a theme, and this week's was Spring. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it? But as you probably know by now, I've never been one for simplicity :D
I'm pretty sure, for the majority of us, when we say Spring, we think flowers, birds, bugs and loads of green so I figured I'd make a bird. Not just any bird, mind you, but a fancy schmancy bird (but of course!).
So I present, before all and sunder, my fine feathered friend called Birdie Likes Spring.
Inspired by the almost extinct Genus Pionus Tumultuosus of South America (also known as the Plum Crowned Parrot), this cutie pie took quite awhile to complete as it's 100% made by hand - sans the use of glue or solder, as is the Eclettica trademark.
For as long as I can remember, I've been a fan of the classics. My shelves and cupboards dip in their centres from all the titles I've collected over the years. Each a mastery of literary expression, every single tome is worth far more than its weight in gold.
And yet, as I'm certain is the case with all aficionados of the written word, there are certain opuscules which are more firmly entrenched in the forefront of our consciousness than others.
Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights is that to me.
Her one and only novel, Wuthering Heights tells the tale of the all encompassing and passionate love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw.
In constructing Wither Thou, Wuthering Heights, my primary goal was to visually recreate Ms Brontë's dramatic depiction of love blossoming amidst the starkness of the moors; of High Sunderlands Halls (this is where Emily worked briefly as a schoolmistress and which appears to have served as a partial model for Wuthering Heights the manor).
These elements are captured in the dimensional intricacy of swirls and whirls embellishing the overall Romantic Goth feel of the pendant. They serve to also echo the elements of dark, intriguing against light, poignant. Sensations both Heathcliff and Catherine must have experienced as they traversed along their personal Culs-de-sac of emotions. The slight asymmetry of the dangling chains kicks in that element of the unexpected - the only predictable factor in any relationship.
Colour undertakes a pivotal role here too. Yet again, the play between the enigmatic and esoteric versus the animated and radiant is visualised in the choice of gemstones used. And these are:-
>> AAA, again with gusto, AAA Dark London Blue Topaz Focal measuring a stunning 26mm by a hefty 29 Carats (this could very well be *THE* most expensive gemstone I've ever purchased)
>> AAA Dark London Blue Topaz Briolettes (in a decadent shade of Inky Blue Black)
>> AAA Mystic Black Spinel Briolettes
>> AA Green Onyx Briolettes
>> AA Pink Sapphire Briolettes
>> AA Pink Tourmaline Stick Briolettes (note the nifty way I've wrapped them with a large 'X' on the front)
>> AAA Polished Brazilian Blue Apatite Rondelles
>> AAA Translucent Pink Ruby Rondelles
>> AAA London Blue Topaz Ovals
>> AAA Gren Onyx Rondelles
Wither Thou, Wuthering Heights drapes from 20" to 25" around your neck (adjustable), and her statement pendant measures approximately 3.25" by 4.5" in height. All wires used are 999 Fine Silver whilst Chains are 925 Sterling. Peek closer and you'll note that certain portions have been polished more so than others. This is intentional to make those specific design bits pop!

These earrings are a joyful, tongue-in-cheek chic representation of that orginal damsel in distress, Miss Pitstop herself.
The Perils of Penelope Pitstop is an American animated TV series produced by Hanna-Barbera (now known as Cartoon Network Studios) which premiered on CBS in September 1969. It was patterned on the silent movie era melodrama cliffhanger movie serial, The Perils of Pauline using the most successful characters of Wacky Races, namely Penelope Pitstop, the members of Anthill Mob and, originally, Dick Dastardly and Muttley.
Her nemesis - the Hooded Claw - who (aided by his pair of near identical henchmen, the Bully Brothers) concocted needlessly Goldbergian plots to kill Penelope (such as a device to drop her from an aircraft, cut her parachute, and then have her drop into a box of wildcats). While the Mob often rescued Penelope, as often as not she needed to rescue the Mob from the unintended effects of their attempts to rescue her. While Penelope was curiously helpless whenever The Hooded Claw grabbed her, once he left her tied up for his fiendish plans to take effect, she usually became resourceful and ingenious, sometimes coming up with spontaneous and creative methodologies to escape her peril.
Penelope was always in a different part of the globe for every peril. Mainly she was in America, but she did go to locations such as Egypt, England, the jungle, Baghdad and the North Pole.
Growing up, I remembered being rather irked by her seemingly helpless disposition but now, in retrospect, I just find Penelope Pitstop absolute fodder for the funny bone. I mean, how could a giggle (or two) not escape when she yelps, "Hell-yepp!! Hell-yepp!!" in true Southern style?? I'm still chuckling :D
The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop the earrings have similarly been designed to serve up girlish fun with dollops of diva glam. Neatly wrapped circlets of 14K Gold Filled are sublimely accented with Genuine Pink Sapphire Rondelles as well as 14K Gold Filled Seed Beads for subtle bling and Peridot for a tender touch of l'odeur de printemps.
Flirtatious waterfalls of gems begin with a ménage à trois of Pure White Keishi Pearls prettied up with a Pink Sapphire Rondelle each. Dotting their midst are Mystic Imperial Topaz Quartz Rondelles that are utterly fabulous and creamy. The ooh la las do not stop there, my friend. Gorgeous AAA Sunstone Briolettes make an appearance, sizzling the scene with their bubbly, champagne-like schiller. Impressively detailed Vesuvianite Leaf Briolettes do their part in upping the appeal quotient as do the palest of Yellow Sapphires.
The chain reaction culminates with luscious Pink Sapphire Briolettes that are simply DROOLWORTHY.
Tenderly encased within yards of 14K Gold Filled Wire, The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop measures approximately 2.5" drop with her womanly curves stretching to about 0.85" at the widest. Those sparkly Ear Posts? They're 18K Gold Filled with Swarovski Rhinestones adding extra bling.
"Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep,
And can't tell where to find them;
Leave them alone,
And they'll come home,
Wagging their tails behind them.
Little Bo Peep fell fast asleep,
And dreamt she heard them bleating;
But when she awoke,
She found it a joke,
For they were still a-fleeting.
Then up she took her little crook,
Determined her to find them;
She found them indeed,
But it made her heart bleed,
For they'd left their tails behind them.
It happened one day, as Bo Peep did stray,
Into a meadow hard by;
There she espied,
Their tails side by side,
All hung on a tree to dry.
She heaved a sigh and wiped her eye,
And over the hillocks went rambling;
And tried what she could,
As a shepherdess should,
To tack each again to its lambkin."
The exact origin is uncertain, but Little Bo Peep can be traced back at least as far as the Victorian era. At least one bookmark from Victorian era is illustrated with Little Bo Peep, so the origin may be even earlier than this.
In Sussex, people claim it is a smuggling tale from the town of St. Leonards (Part of the Hastings conurbation). One of the Martello Towers, known informally as Bo Peep was used to house the customs men and sometimes to imprison the smugglers themselves.
The Bo Peep public house (which still stands) is said to have been used by smugglers. The extra verses of the rhyme make more sense in this context than if it is really about a shepherdess.
Little Bo Peep herself refers to the customs men, the sheep are the smugglers and the tails are the contraband (probably barrels of rum and/or brandy). It was known for smugglers to abandon their contraband if they heard the customs men were onto them.
The second verse probably refers to the fact that, in local communities, smugglers were more liked by the locals than the customs men and false trails were often set.
So I was watching an episode of the Amazing Race and was utterly enthralled by the beauty of Jaipur. The capital of Rajasthan in India, Jaipur is also popularly known as The Pink City and boasts its very own Maharaja, His Highness Sawai Bhawani Singh Bahadur.
Upon further research, I became besotted with Hawa Mahal or The Palace Of Winds. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this glorious confection of pink was designed in the form of the crown of Krishna. It forms part of the City Palace and extends the Zenana (or chambers of the harem). Its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen! So cool!
This exquisitely pretty Palace has five stories and is constructed predominantly of Pink Sandstone. The side facing the street has 953 small windows, and the breeze (hawa) which circulates through these windows gives the palace its name, and keeps it cool even in hot months. Err, there are no stairs to reach the upper floors, only ramps. Ouch.
Anyway, to less strenuous matters, I created a necklace inspired by Hawa Mahal and those 935 windows (see fourth image). I tried to imbue the essence and soul of those curves and arches and parapets into a 3-Dimensional adornment worthy of a Maharani.
A Fairytale Of Jaipur, The Pink City was fashioned predominantly from 14K Rose Gold Filled Wire and all things pinkalicious!
The Molly Ringwald-approved list of pink baubles reads:-
> Watermelon Tourmaline Set With A 1mm Genuine Diamond
> Kenyan Pink Ruby
> Pink Tourmaline
> Pink Sapphire
> Deep Pink Tourmaline
> Bubblegum Pink Chalcedony
> Fuchsia Chalcedony
> Padparadscha Sapphire
> Mauve Seed Pearl
> Orchid Pink Topaz
Not pink BUT irrefutably decadent still are touches of Spessartine Garnet and heavenly Peruvian Rhodocrosite.
I really really REALLY like this necklace. It's feminine but not saccharin sweet. Dramatic yet not overpoweringly so. A true statement piece.
That curvaceous arch-esque focal measures 5.75" across with a total height of 4.75" (all the way down to the very end of that scrumpdelicious Watermelon Tourmaline Pendant with that mega sparkling Clear Diamond).
Only 14K Rose Gold Filled Wire was used in the engineering of le focal as well as in all wire-wrapping activities. This beauty extends from a pert 14" to a longish 20" but if you want her longer, just holler :) The chains themselves are 18K Gold Filled whilst the Clasp has been fashioned by hand from 14K Rose Gold Filled Wire.
La vie en rose.

"We're painting the roses red
We dare not stop
Or waste a drop
So let the paint be spread
We're painting the roses red
We're painting the roses red
Oh, painting the roses
And many a tear we shed
Because we know
They'll cease to grow
In fact, they'll soon be dead
And yet we go ahead
Painting the roses red
Painting the roses red
We're painting the roses red
Oh, pardon me
But Mister Three
Why must you paint them red?
Huh? Oh! Well, the fact is, Miss
We planted the white roses by mistake
And...
The Queen she likes 'em red
If she saw white instead
She'd raise a fuss
And each of us
Would quickly lose his head
Goodness!
Since this is the part we dread
We're painting the roses red
Oh, Dear! Then let me help you
Painting the roses red
We're painting the roses red
Don't tell the Queen what you have seen
Or say that's what we said
But we're painting the roses red
Yes, painting the roses red
Not pink
Not green
Not aquamarine
We're painting the roses red!"
Well, do your worse, Queen Of Hearts, I'm painting my roses pink, so there!!!
Here's another funny bit of trivia. The Queen Of Hearts (from Alice's Adventures In Wonderland) is often mistaken for The Red Queen (from Through The Looking Glass) when in reality the only similarity between the two is that they're both queens.
Indeed, Carroll, in his lifetime, made the distinction of the two Queens by saying, "I pictured to myself the Queen Of Hearts as a sort of embodiment of ungovernable passion - a blind and aimless Fury. The Red Queen I pictured as a Fury, but of another type; her passion must be cold and calm - she must be formal and strict, yet not unkindly; pedantic to the 10th degree, the concentrated essence of all governesses!"
And so this necklace was fashioned after an unquenchable and uncontrollable desire for P-I-N-K!!
Pink Sapphires dance a-ring-a-round-the-rosey in a festive circlet also featuring Orange Topaz, Colombian Emeralds (one must also acknowledge the presence of fauna in a garden, yes?), Salmon Peachy Pink Peruvian Rhodocrosites, Peridot and Kenyan Pink Rubies.
This "transports me to a happy place" kaleidoscope continues on with a most delicious cascade of more colour including the additional touches of zesty Spessartine Garnets and sassy chains. That ravishing Pink Topaz Chandelier Focal commands a regal presence in all its 27 Carat beauty.
Yesssssssssssssssssssssss, Your Majesty!
Painting The Roses Pink is such a delicate affair which can be worn from 17" to 22", your wish is her command. Her focal portion drops around 3 3/8". All wires and components used are 14K Gold Filled. And those wispy little droplets along the chain? Those are extra touches of pretty Polished Peridot Rounds.

This wouldn't be my choice of ring... but we can and do make anything the client wants! In this case a heart shaped pink sapphire set in a vine-like, organic lattice of platinum and diamond flowers. The main thing was to make it look as the client wanted it and this meant drawing a detailed design first!
You will notice that this hand-made ring is different on each side to make the organic feel really work well. Our jeweller rather underestimated how long it would take to make!

As many of you know, all things boudoir and burlesque have always appealed to me, inspired me ... aroused my creative senses, so to speak. And in the world of Golden-era cinema and classic retro style, no one stands out more (to me) than Dita Von Teese.
True, she isn't a product of 1940s Hollywood but the "Queen Of Burlesque" (as Dita is often fondly dubbed by the press) is perhaps the most popular burlesque performer of our time.
Some of her more famous dances have involved a carousel horse, a giant powder compact, a filigree heart and a clawfoot bathtub with a working shower head. Her feather fan dance, inspired by burlesque dancer Sally Rand, featured the world's largest feather fans, which is presently on display in Hollywood's Museum Of Sex. Dita's trademark performance showcases a giant martini glass, an act emulated by Cameron Diaz in the film Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.
What fascinates me most about Dita, however, is her style. Vintage-inspired outfits, beehive hairstyles and elbow-length gloves coupled with basques and seamed stockings are looks she's pioneered since 1990, long before boudoir was considered IN. What a woman.
The earrings Heather My Sweet, You Are Such A Tease are an unabashed tribute to Ms Dita Von Teese (who was born Heather Sweet). From choice of gemstones to wire techniques deployed, right down to their shape. An ode to being unapologetically female and downright sexy.
Parallels to lingerie abound in this design - the main "V" frames echoe the cut and allure of a tantalising Teddy. These were shaped out of 18K Yellow Gold Filled Wire, and feature flirty lace-like ruffles on the sides, diligently woven out of 14K Rose Gold Filled Wire.
Snowy, almost Virgin-esque White Coin Pearls with incredible Nacre are generously endowed with Pink Sapphires in Genuine 14K Yellow Gold Bezels. These nestle tenderly amongst more folds of woven 14K Rose Gold Filled Lace, as though within the smoothness of super sexy bustier cups.
The lower quartets of curves, 14K White Gold Filled, are intentionally nipped in, to mimick Dita's waspy natural waistline of 22" which can be further reduced to an unbelievable 16.5" with corset lacing. How does she do it??
From these dangle amazing focals of precious Moss Amethyst Briolettes with gorgeous rutiles and further prettied-up with Amethyst Bezels set in 14K Solid Yellow Gold. Adding a touch of flamboyance no self-respecting burlesque performer would be without are rare Pink Sapphire Onion Briolettes of the highest quality ever. Finally, stunning Black Diamond Briolettes, a girl's best friend :)
Heather My Sweet, You Are Such A Tease tempts the onlooker at a winsome 2.75" drop, with a diameter measuring 1.5" at her most curvaceous. Her Ear Hooks are 14K Rose Gold Filled and have been accented with a single teeny Fresh Water Pearl in Puritan White (cheeky Sheela, I know).

HEATHER MY SWEET, YOU ARE SUCH A TEASE is part of the BORDELLO QUEEN Collection.
Think Lolita meets dramatic Goth. A collection heavily infuenced by French lace and sexy corsetry with throwbacks to 17th Century drama and grandeur. Designs that combine age old techniques with stylised, unexpected, saucy storybook elements.
Intense. Naughty. Provocative. Real.
Lighting information: one Olympus FL-600R camera right, diffused by a small Polaroid diffuser; one Olympus FL-300R camera left, undiffused. Both triggered by the onboard FL-LM1 flash on the camera, also contributing to the exposure. Both flashes resting on the table top.
"No!", you gasp in (mock) horror.
But of course. As Ms Dickinson so very aptly puts it, "A little Madness in the Spring, is wholesome even for the King." Or Queen, as the case may be.

"Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips
And the sun is like a toy balloon
There are get-up-in-the-morning glories
In the golden afternoon.
There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside
Strings of violets are all in tune
Tiger lilies love the dandelions
In the golden afternoon.
There are dogs and caterpillars and a copper centipede
Where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life
They lead...
You can learn a lot of things from the flowers
For especially in the month of June
There's a wealth of happiness and romance
All in the golden afternoon"
Yes, I too am eagerly awaiting Mr Burton's rendition of Alice In The Wonderland. And in anticipation, I find myself being incredibly inspired by that exotic and very beautiful (if somewhat catty) garden of singing flowers upon which Alice stumbled as she traversed across Wonderland in pursuit of the White Rabbit.
In researching flowers, I discovered that there is an actual language of flowers called Floriography. A means of communication used primarily during the Victorian period in which various flowers and floral arrangements were used to send coded messages, this allowed individuals to express feelings which otherwise could not be spoken. It was most commonly communicated through Tussie-Mussies (nosegays), an art which has a following today.
Then there's the Turkish "Salem", or language of objects, developed to communicate any message without the need to write as well as Hanakotoba, an independent Japanese flower language.
Fascinating. Fascinating. Fascinating.
My signature Circlets form the basis for In The Garden Of Singing Flowers and this time, they come bedecked with Orange Sapphires as well as Peridots with dimensional centres of Colombian Emeralds. Dainty wreaths of Pink and (more) Orange Sapphires crown their tops in a most darling fashion. Luscious cascades of Spessartines trickle downwards, made additionally beguiling with the inclusion of dreamy Peruvian Rhodocrosite, Kenyan Pink Rubies and wee sprinklings of Colombian Emeralds.
Out-of-this-world Pink Topaz Chandelier Briolettes pull everything together beautifully!!! Combined with chains that shimmy and sway, these eye-popping beauties weigh a total of 38 Carats. Divine.
In The Garden Of Singing Flowers drops a genteel 2.25" and is very comfy indeed. All components used are 14K Gold Filled whilst those fantabulous Art Deco Ear Posts are 24K Gold Vermeil.

"She was surrounded in the solitude of the wilderness, by Sakuntas (birds),
Therefore, hath she been named by me Sakuntala (bird-protected)"
Inspired by the play, Sakuntala (penned by India's great early poet, Kalidasa) tells the tale of the beautiful maiden Shakuntala and King Dushyanta. Set along the banks of river Malini, their love story began when the King caught sight of her as he traversed the forest, hunting for deer, and fell instantly in love. Together, they had a son named Bharata who made a sport of opening the mouths of tigers and lions, and counting their teeth.
These gorgeous danglers are my tactile rendition of this poetic romance.
Evocative of the rich tapestry of colours so synonymous with Indian culture, SHAKUNTALA is an epic performance of only the BEST gemstones I could unearth.

> GEM GRADE IMPOSSIBLY RARE LAVENDER OPAL Briolettes
> PREMIUM GRADE Moss Amethyst Briolettes
> PREMIUM GRADE Mystic Topaz Briolettes
> Gorgeous AFRICAN Ruby Marquis Briolettes
> PREMIUM GRADE Translucent Pink Sapphire Rondelles
> Black Spinel Rondelles coated with GENUINE BLACK DIAMOND DUST
> GEM GRADE Mystic Black Sapphire Rondelles (see that flash?)
All of which dangle from exquisite 14K Gold Filled Ear Hooks set with Genuine Amethyst Bezels. And yes, the chains are a mix this time ... a very fetching combination of Yellow Gold Filled contrasting beautifully with Dark Oxidised Sterling Silver.
SHAKUNTALA drops a visually opulent 2" from those pretty Ear Hooks and is yet exceedingly lithe on the lobes.

An icon of dangerous female seductiveness, Salome is emblematic of the femme fatale, a fashionable trope of Fin de Siecle decadence. More than merely the dancing girl who extorts a cry of lust from an old man by the lascivious contortions of her body; who breaks the will, and masters the mind of a King by the spectacle of her quivering bosoms, heaving belly and tossing thighs; Salome has risen (if we can quite put it so eloquently) above all these to be revered as the symbolic incarnation of world old Vice.
The spotlight now shines upon said alluring movements as we proudly present The Dance Of The Seven Veils, Starring Salome.
I've endeavoured to portray every nuance of lust-inciting sensuality and fiery desire the world has come to associate Salome's performance with, into this magnificent neckpiece.
My magnum opus exudes an air of undeniable eroticism as precision-faceted Rondelles of Rubies, Pink Sapphires, Whiskey Quartz and Pink Amethyst twine and intertwine along and around one's decolletage. Polished Nuggets of Honey Topaz and Pink Sapphire suggest an air of nonchalence even as Spessartine Garnet Briolettes infuse spurts of wicked colour.
Unapologetically flamboyant, the pendant is truly the wire-wrapped counterpart to all things sensual and beguiling. Fasten your sights upon those curvaceous whirls and twirls. Feel the stirrings of desire within you to possess those beautiful gemstones that which beckon and call you.
Prominently festooned with an Opal set within a 14K Solid Yellow Gold Bezel, a single smooth pebble of Honey Topaz kickstarts the crowning glory of this visual depiction of moral turpitude.
Hark!! Heed the siren song of that ENTRANCING Whiskey Quartz Focal whose vital statistics of 50mm and 131 Carats make one oblivious to all else.
Cavorting alongside it are decadent trims of BLACK DIAMOND BRIOLETTES, Orange Sapphires, Rubies, Pink Sapphires, Spessartine Garnets, Pink Amethyst and more Whiskey Quartz.
Rational thought is futile.
As evidenced from the snapshots, Presenting "The Dance Of The Seven Veils", Starring Salome, is as diverse in her applications as she is in disarming the enemy. Wear her closer to the neck or dangling low or wrapped around twice for a layered look. Measuring 22" with an extension chain proferring adjustability options up to 30", Presenting "The Dance Of The Seven Veils", Starring Salome can (in truth) be hooked at any point. You call the shots.
Her focal stands 7" tall sans the crowning Polished Topaz Nugget, 8.75" with. All wires used are a combination of 925 Sterling and 999 Fine Silvers.

PRESENTING THE DANCE OF THE SEVEN VEILS, STARRING SALOME is part of the MATA HARI Collection.
An artistic showcase of bejewelled interpretations inspired by the captivating and openly flirtatious dance movements pioneered by Dutch-Frisian Exotic Dancer and Courtesan, Mata Hari.
Bold, provocative designs synonymous with the term Femme Fatale.
Inspired once again by all things intoxicating, this heady treat is so called Bubblegum as its palette inclines heavily towards the Lolita-esque allure of a cocktail of the same name. Plus, I love love love this particular combination of colours (as some of you well know!!).
The kaleidoscope I've chosen for my own "shaken and stirred" shot of Bubblegum is comprised of:-
> Polished Pyrope Red Garnet
> Pink Sapphire
> Polished Sunstone
> Polished Cherry Garnet
> Citrine
> Faceted Sunstone
> Black Spinel
> Polished Sunstone
> Black Onyx
> Super Rare Black Sapphire
Petite and lightweight in physical proportions but a compelling and luscious feast for the eyes nonetheless, Bubblegum features a procession of chic clusters leading up the neckline. These are comprised of Smooth Sunstone Ovals linked up with profusions of Black Spinel, Citrine and teeny tiny Garnet Rounds. To ensure optimal contrast, several Faceted Sunstone Rondelles have also been added into the mix.
Nearer to the centrepiece, a bevy of draping chains adds interest and punk princess charm as it cavorts shamelessly with Black Onyx, Burmese Rubies and Sunstones. All these lead towards the most HEDONISTIC Black Sapphire Focal ever!! This eighth wonder of the world weighs an intense 57 Carats and measures a jawdropping 29mm (this is my smallest incidentally :P). Tell that to pundits who claim size doesn't matter!!!
The epitome of wearable lush, Bubblegum measures 19" in length, and this is adjustable all the way to 22.25". She secures with an 18K Gold Filled Lobster Claw Clasp which has, in turn, been adorned with a duo of gem charms namely a generously-sized Polished Sunstone Briolette as well as a sexy Polished Pyrope Red Garnet Briolette.

BUBBLEGUM is part of the HOPSCOTCH Collection.
Hopscotch. классики. Klasy. Bebeleche. Himmel und Hölle. Potsy. Kith-Kith. Puz. Teng Teng. No matter the name, no matter the language, Hopscotch conjures up images of fun and play. This range is all about not taking yourself too seriously where dressing up is concerned.
Live it up.
Finally got around to using my Watermelon Tourmaline Focal set with a Single Clear Diamond in 18K Yellow Gold.
I've been saving it up (ok ok, hoarding!!) since January and I'm really glad I did cos I think this design is the perfect foil for that baby.
Eve's been focusing on The Seven Lost Wonders Of The World for her mid-term exam and I was so intrigued by the Hanging Gardens Of Babylon I had to make this.
Loads of Pink Sapphires (Briolettes and Rondelles) come together with Keishi Pearls, Vesuvianite Leaves, Sunstones, Yellow Sapphires, Rubies and, the pièce de résistance, that majestic AAA Grade Watermelon Tourmaline Focal set with a Single Clear Diamond in 18K Yellow Gold.
AND NOW FOR THE STORY.
Accounts indicate that The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was built by King Nebuchadnezzar, who ruled the city for 43 years starting in 605BC (during the height of the city's power and influence), and he constructed an astonishing array of temples, streets, palaces and walls.
It was said that the gardens were built to cheer up Nebuchadnezzar's homesick wife, Amyitis, daughter of the King of the Medes. She'd married Nebuchadnezzar to create an alliance between the nations. The land she came from, though, was green, rugged and mountainous, and she found the flat, sun-baked terrain of Mesopotamia depressing. The king decided to recreate her homeland by building an artificial mountain with rooftop gardens.
The Hanging Gardens probably did not really "hang" in the sense of being suspended from cables or ropes. The name comes from an inexact translation of the Greek word kremastos or the Latin word pensilis, which mean not just "hanging", but "overhanging" as in the case of a terrace or balcony.
Whatever the definition and specifics, we can only wonder if Queen Amyitis was happy with her fantastic present, or if she continued to pine for the green mountains of her homeland.

An adaptation of two classic Modeste Parisienne designs, the Sari necklace combines a rich fringe of transparent faceted Ruby briolettes and a heart shaped gem encrusted Sterling frame.
The rubies boast a rich shade of magenta pink and are paired with equally vibrant pink, purple and orange gemstones. These include a faceted Amethyst chandelier cut briolette, faceted Carnelian, Pink Sapphire, Amethyst and apricot Sapphire rondelles.
The beautiful vibrant shades of Indian saris inspired the Boho feel of this delightful necklace.
I love how the chains appear seemingly random when in reality, they form a loop de loop pattern.
See bottom right image.
STRAITJACKET FOR A STRUMPET is seamless as clearly evidenced from the pictures, with the exception of selected portions that have been intentionally prettied-up with fancy stitches. All components used (save for the Italian Dupioni Silk, 14k Gold Filled Chains and Taffeta) are antique and very, very old. In fact, some are over 100 years old, seriously. So please, wear her with care and respect. Dry clean only.
OOAK, stitched entirely by hand, with needle and thread.

"I have a Rainbow Garden,
For inside of it you’ll see;
Every color you would find;
What a rainbow ought to be.
The blue is for Forget-me-knots ,
Yellow for Daffodils,
Red is for my gladiolas;
My flowers are such a thrill.
Green creates the many leaves,
Of my Rainbow Garden too;
I get such peacefulness,
I would love to show it to you.
My roses, oh I have many,
My palette of color shades,
I must enjoy them daily;
For the time for them will fade.
So if you’re feeling weary,
And you don’t know what to do,
Plant flowers of all colors,
And have a Rainbow Garden too!
Marilyn Lott ~ year unknown
I had SUCH fun making this necklace!! I was inspired, and I readily admit, by a book my daughter has, rather it's a series of books about Jewel Fairies. The sketches, the colors, so vivid and bewitching, I just had to make something :)
And indeed, A Bejewelled Rainbow Fairy is truly a magical palette of shade, shape and texture.

True, Dita isn't a product of 1940s Hollywood but the "Queen Of Burlesque" (as she is often fondly dubbed by the press) is perhaps the most popular burlesque performer of our time.
