Pink azalea in the arboretum in Rogów. It's one of my favourite places, which I love to visit :)
The Rogów Arboretum, established in 1925, is the Station of Protection and Shaping of Forest Ecosystems. It covers an area of 54 ha and is of an exceptional character as compared with other centers of the type in Poland or Europe, because it has been built from the very beginning as a research – didactic object and, moreover, it was located in the forest and has been tightly connected with the forest experimental study from the moment of its origin. The Arboretum consists of three basic parts: the dendrological collections (about 22 ha), the forest experimental plots (about 18 ha) and the alpine garden (1.5 ha).
The dendrological collections that is tree and shrub individuals planted either separately or in groups or small area forms, are mainly concentrated in the central and southern part of the Arboretum, covering a total of 2350 species and varieties. The Arboretum’s specialty is its collection of maples and shrubs from China. This segment is managed naturally, having the look of more a forest park than a typical botanical garden. The trees give the shelter and the proper microclimate for the introduced trees and shrubs.

Jedna z kwitnących azalii w arboretum w Rogowie. Jest to jedno z moich ulubionych miejsc, które bardzo lubię odwiedzać :)
Arboretum w Rogowie – należy do grupy najcenniejszych, najbogatszych w gatunki i odmiany drzew i krzewów tego typu ogrodów w Europie. Położony jest w dawnym siedlisku leśym i ma charakter parku leśnego. Od początku istnienia (1925 r.) podlega pod Wydział Leśny SGGW. Na jego obszarze znajdują się jedne z najbogatszych i najciekawszych kolekcji drzew i krzewów Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej. Najchetniej odwiedzanym miejscem w ogrodzie jest alpinarium. Oprócz wyniesionych na 2 m ponad poziom gruntu skalniaków, założono tu ciąg strumyków, kilka oczek wodnych i 5-arowy staw z wyspą. W rogowskim alpinarium można obejrzeć ponad 400 gatunków i odmian roślin, pochodzących z gór całego świata. W większości są to byliny, ale nie tylko. Rosną tu także krzewy i drzewa terenów górzystych, np. majestatyczne świerki serbskie, kształtne limby czy srebrzyste jodły kalifornijskie.
A Huge flock of Lesser flamingo (Phoeniconaias minor) roaming like the storm was framed from the ground level. They were really uncountable, all across the horizon but the noise and synchronous patterns were just amazing and can only be cherished in the field. I had to lie down in the muddy and salty wetland for long with my heavy tele only to frame this. The Blue water and sky along with their pink colours were just an amazing match for each other. - the scientific name for these everlasting flowers is Helichrysum and they are in the sunflower family
- I remember the soft crackle of their petals when my father, or was it my grandfather, used to grow them in the garden

Common mallow (Malva sylvestris) is a species of the mallow genus Malva in the family of Malvaceae and is considered to be the type species for the genus. It's native in Western Europe, North Africa nad Asia and spreads itself on waste and rough ground, by roads and railways throughout lowland England, Wales and Channel Islands, Siberia and scattered elsewhere. It has been introduced to and has become naturalised in eastern Australia, in the United States, Canada, and Mexico as an invasive species. It blooms from late June to late October. In traditional medicine common mallow has been used in herbalism. It's edible. In some coyntries Malva leaves are steamed with garlic and tomatoes, and eaten as an appetizer or salad. Dried leaves can be used for the tea.

Drobne kwiatuszki rosnące przy drodze, pstryknięte podczas spaceru wokół Polańczyka :)
Ślaz dziki (Malva sylvestris), czasami nazywany także ślazem leśnym – gatunek rośliny należący do rodziny ślazowatych (Malvaceae). Rodzime obszary jego występowania to Europa, duża część Azji, Afryka Północna. Obecnie występuje na wszystkich kontynentach (poza Antarktydą). W Polsce występuje pospolicie na całym niżu i w niższych partiach gór. Kwitnie od końca czerwca do późnego października. Rośnie na siedliskach ruderalnych i segetalnych: przydrożach, przychaciach, nieużytkach, zrębach, brzegach rzek, miedzach, zaroślach oraz na polach uprawnych jako chwast. Jest rośliną leczniczą, używany jako środek osłaniający i zmiękczający zewnętrznie i wewnętrznie w stanach nieżytowych nosa i zapalnych dróg oddechowych. Dawniej spożywany był też jako jarzyna. Z młodych liści i pędów ślazu sporządzano zupę ziołową, sałatkę i dodatki. Z suszonych liści robiono herbatę.

Catch of the day. Is that a perfect pink, or what?
I'm almost totally ignorant about roses, but this is one of the old-fashioned, hrm, not singlet blooms but not the massive multi-layered hybrids either. This one is growing in the Cambria Historic Society garden, which is intended (I think) to reflect gardening here in the early days. I'd be happy to hear from rose experts!
Picked up some pretty baby pink carnations. They almost look like mini roses.
