Proud Lake is a very large state recreation area in the Commerce Twp/Milford/ Wixom area. The forest is serene, excellent canoeing and fishing opportunities. I happen to love the forest - to go sit and enjoy the sound of the wind through the trees and listen to the birds and animals as they go about their lives.

This small patch of pine forest is located just a few miles north of the Polish village of Janów. The trees have very few branches, because of heavy snow fall that happend a few years ago. There aren't as many forests in Poland as there once were, but several patches still remain. Pin forests like these are really common.
We actualy went over there to pick mushrooms, but there weren't very many. There wasn't much wildlife either. I did see a few birds though.
