While the Pine Marten were tricky to photograph during the day, I did manage to get some photos of them, like this one.

A breathtaking view of Tenerife’s volcanic highlands, where lush green pine trees grow on the rugged, rocky slopes. This image captures the island’s unique blend of arid terrain and vibrant forest life under a crisp blue sky, showcasing the resilience of nature in this dramatic landscape.
I just have to start the weekend with a little dance from the Finnish forests last week ツ
I've also started it by photographing many beautiful little wading birds, that came close as I laid flat on the beach for the best perspective.
And now I rehearse for two concerts with my choir this weekend, together with several famous Norwegians both at the stage and in the audience. It will be exciting! (Even though I have to mime due to losing my voice after the Finland trip) 😅
Have a nice weekend!

Walking through a pine forest just as the morning sun breaks the horizon, suddenly the forest is alive.
The volcanic nature of the Mount Teide National Park located on Tenerife, Canary Islands, makes for a geological playground full of fascinating hiking trails and routes. The national park is essentially vast, unspoiled wilderness ranging from volcanic rock formations to fields of wildflowers and pine forests.

It was amazing meeting wild bears, wolves and wolverines for the first time, by the Russian border in Finland the first week of September.
Some of them came really close- like this one at 2,5 meters. I sat in a small hide, but luckily it was only interested in the food we had brought for it ツ

Needless to the say the highlight of a recent road trip. Once the storm died down I was able to have a great time viewing the owls. I picked up a 6-pack of coors on my way back to the hotel and watched a David Attenborough bit on them to cap the evening.
A male great spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos major), that suddenly came right in front of us as we sat in the pine forest hide, photographing bears up close last week.
I wasn´t set for bird photography with only 70-200mm for the large animals that came really close - but I found it really nice with more of the tree and that lovely bokeh anyway.

The play of light and shadow moves like a living rhythm through the forest — a fleeting moment caught in motion, where the calm of the trees meets the blur of passing time.
Fun fact
Did you know that pine forests like this one are designed by nature to let sunlight reach the forest floor? Their tall, slender trunks and sparse canopy create shifting light patterns that change with every hour of the day.
