The innards of the pineapple that grew in my backyard. It was yummy. :-)
Pineapples sold in stores seem to generally be larger, a bit sweeter (although this one tasted very good), and a deeper golden color on the inside.
This is the crown that I removed from the top of the pineapple. The fruit has been removed and most of the lower leaves have been removed. I let this sit out and dry on the kitchen counter for almost a week.
This is not what I was hoping to do... but I did use colored pencils and experiment with that process. I'll go back to a water color wash and try again. I added the wallpaper just to set it all off, and I like the bejeweled effect. Just fun.

I had a lot of crushed pineapple leftover from 1406 Thanksgiving so half of it went toward these adorable little cakes. And, at only about 50 calories each, why not indulge? These are light and airy and perfect with a little powdered sugar sprinkled on top!

happy valentine's day. this is from a pineapple upside-down cake that we made yesterday--i got creative with the maraschino cherries. mmm...think i'll go have a piece now.

What is one Element of Design that you see in this photograph? i see texture on the outside skin of the pineapple.
What is one Principle of Design that you see in this photograph? the skin always looks like a pattern.
Why do you like this photograph so much? i love everything about this photograph, the stand that the object is standing on is perfect.
