Taken in the Shenley Golf Course.

It was at this point when I was fully convinced that the "hiking map" I had was only a schematic. I was about 6 miles away from the nearest mountain hut, but with Teide in the distance and the sun, it was actually fairly easy to navigate through these endless lavafields and pine forests.

Photo was cropped and resized (for reduced size). Not retouched in any other way.

Found on the ground in Greenwich Park.

Pines are native to most of the Northern Hemisphere, and have been introduced throughout most temperate and subtropical regions of the world, where they are grown as timber and cultivated as ornamental plants in parks and gardens.

I'm not a big fan of pine trees. Mostly because they hurt to run into. This one is friendly and soft.

I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it... The Minnesota State Tree should be The Majestic White Pine, not the mediocre Red Pine.

I saw the flash of color high in the mature oak tree along the shore of Lake Murray in South Carolina. Active in pursuit of food, this pine warbler paused long enough for me to draw a focus and record his image. I thought at first it might be a yellow warbler - I believe the face patch indicated it is a pine warbler. This and the fact that the area is heavy in mature pine trees.

Last batch. I hung out trying to motivate myself to go just 1 more mile, to yosemite point. Nothing doing. My body had enough! Unfortunately, downhill is very difficult when already worn out. I packed up the camera and made getting down the mountain a full time job. When I landed on the bottom, I was positively beside myself how fun that was!

A dead branch (pine!) - looks sad!

Lots of Pine Warblers today, as many as four and possibly more. Normally farther south in the winter time but some can overwinter. A hardy warbler and this has been a mild winter. The one pictured is a juvenile. Rare in eBird. Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Howard County, Maryland.

A typical farm track along this farm where there is an abundance of NZ Pines planted through out the farm & valley down to the Patea River.

What a lovely winter it has been! I'm not sure I like the spring but it is giving us some nice images!

Dark clouds overhead during a forest walk, for a short moment the colours were terrific before the rain came down, a glimpse of autumn.
