CERAMICS ELEMENT

These are ceramic works sparked by the collaborative developments that lead to an exhibition of work between artists Katherine Glandey; Christina Brayer and Zizipho Poswa in late 2008 called "exchange". It was the platform to share experiences and things seen in the past, a process of remembering the significance of each moment in infinite detail, my interpretations of these moments where as DNA molecules, seen spiraling from the very beginnings of life to the present. These elements are used to create stories through imagery by placing them together as a puzzle. The themes range from animals; human figures to plants and I have chosen to incorporate them into our interactive installations; sculptures and lifestyle range

MATRIX-RANGE

This range came about using found objects collected while walking, objects that seemed interesting enough to be re used to create texture or form. I picked up bolts; buttons; an old pricing stamp; parts of an old type writer and computer parts. Our studio is situated in an industrial area and my work within this range reflects industrial elements hence I refer to myself as a chameleon artist.

AFRICASSO-RANGE

While studying the history of art, I came across different artists that I could identify with, based on their philosophy; technique; use of color and their interpretations of life. Pablo Picasso is one of those great artists that are influential within my work along with Joan Miro; Salvador Dali and others. Using these influences, I am able to interpret and convey my childhood; mythical and everyday stories,by Andile Dyalvane
