This is a shot from our trip to Sougahoagdee Falls aka Scooby-Dooby falls. lol
This was a great trip that i shared with my Dad (nwbama), Wes (bamawester), Jamie (jamiebd), and Rob (land^shark). I believe we all got some wonderful shots! Feel free to add me as a contact
On a Minnesota spring morning driving on gravel roads through the countryside, the light was perfect for shooting birds high in trees. This eagle was very accommodating as he stayed on this tree above the wetlands for about a half hour. I was hoping his piercing gaze was fixed on possible prey other than me.
Late night on the platforms of the dimly lit Tbilisi railway station didn't feel like the safest place, especially when I had my camera out. There were a few non traveling locals using the station footbridge as a means of getting from one side of the tracks to the other, many of which clocked my presence.
Of course I wouldn't normally hang around in the dark on such a station, but my cross border sleeper service was due shortly.
Having visited the station during daylight hours it was soon apparent that most freight was scheduled to run at night. This photo shows an unidentified CME 3 locomotive catching a little light as it runs through the station. It had just come off shed.
The tip of a Bristlecone Pine tree in front of the star, Vega - the 5th brightest star in the night sky, and the 2nd brightest in the Northern celestial Hemisphere. The green color in the sky is “airglow” in the ionosphere. The orange glow on the bottom left is light pollution from the St. George area, 90 miles (145 km) away.
Photographed in August along the Bristlecone Loop Trail of Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah), one of the darkest regions in the United States (a Bortle Scale Class 1). Taken with an inexpensive (300 dollar), but very low coma, 14mm Rokinon lens on a Canon 5D Mark3 (f/2.8, 25 sec, ISO 8000).

More of my night photography techniques (my specialty) are available in my ebook, Milky Way NightScapes, which gives extensive details on my style of starry night landscape photography. Four chapters cover planning, scouting, forecasting star/landscape alignment, light painting, shooting techniques and post processing.

Got a surprise one morning when I found this Red Fox at a local park. He allowed me to get some shots off but as soon as I made a slight move he bolted.
What is a television apparatus to man, who has only to shut his eyes to see the most inaccessible regions of the seen and the never seen, who has only to imagine in order to pierce through walls and cause all the planetary Baghdads of his dreams to rise from the dust.

My friend Andrea has the most beautiful blue eyes. And I finally have the lens to capture them!
I do love cupcakes I do.
These cupcakes came from a place that is rumored to be getting its own show on the Food channel. They were excellent, I can definitely see why! This one was red velvet with cream cheese icing, yummm.
P.S. I don't care who doesn't like this photo because I think they go well together and I happen to love it. Thanks (:
finally did it as a birthday present to myself. i've wanted this for years but always procrastinated, saying i'd get it whenever i lost a bunch of weight and wasn't ashamed of how i looked anymore. then a couple weeks ago i realized i couldn't wait around for perfection, i needed to do this while i'm still young enough to enjoy it. i'm really happy with it.

This is a color shot of the spot where the church of St. John once stood in Ioannina, Greece, within the North-Eastern citadel of the Castle. It is in the church’s place that Aslan Pasha’s mosque was built in the early 17th century (c.1618). The old Turkish Library is visible (below-centre) in front of the mosque. The mosque has got a square floor plan; in its South-Western corner stairs lead up to the minaret.
The minaret is as tall and thin as a sudden Scream PIERCING the heavens’ Silence and Serenity! It was from up there that Muslims were loudly called for prayer by the muezzin. The presence of so many Ottoman buildings in the town awakens painful memories of four hundred and eighty three years (1430–1913) of Turkish occupation—oppression, blood, tears and martyrdom. It also reminds us of the horrendous events that occurred in Constantinople in early September 1955.
Since 1930 the Municipal Museum of the city of Ioannina has been housed in the mosque; a Greek, a Jewish and a Turkish collection are exhibited there.
