Very small and thin dragonfly had to see let a lone capture. Not many dragonflies to choose from at this time. A bit early in the summer for insects.
For Macro Mondays - Pick Two
This week we had to choose one word from each of two lists. I chose Damaged and Glass.
This is a small part of a glass lampshade that got broken - it is still in my shed while I try to match it as it is one of a pair. The area shown is 2 inches x 1 3/4 inches.
Happy Macro Monday!

Macro Monday - Pick two from the list - I chose pink and paper
I cut and embossed these little butterflies from pink paper, using my die cutting machine. The background is one I made too. I attached them to wire to give the appearance of flying then cloned the wires out. HMM
For the Macro Mondays ‘Pick Two’ theme - zagged stone.
This is actually pink amethyst, but I zapped it with green light from below and behind to create Superman’s nemesis, Kryptonite.

"Delicate" "Brush" for "Pick Two"
I had taken a picture of a bug (which I might post later on) but this brush needed to be seen. It is my grandma's. I have tons of different sizes and shapes of her brushes. There are some that were used so much they were broken and taped while others not touched at all. I smiled as I dug through her artist tool box looking at all of them. I squeezed the shaft of a broken one I found in a tattered envelope. She had carefully formed the end of it into a pushing device, to give herself different textures on her canvas. I felt that warm wash of emotion fill me as I knew she had many times held this very brush. I imagined it was one of her favorites. I pondered silently, she probably used this brush more than any of the other brushes. It gave me a sense of closeness to her. At that moment, this delicate brush became more than just a brush....it became a piece of my grandma's soul. :)

Twist and turn, this is how plants grow their way up for the sunlight from the forested ground.
You will be amazed by the power and will to survive of these plants. They can climb as high as they can to the top of the trees.
Taken for Macro Monday theme "Pick Two"
.This plant has arrived in our garden from somewhere but is very welcome.
Second of two captures taken for these week's Macro Monday theme combining two themes from separate lists.
This is the capture with the two candy cane treats in the frame completely for a 1:1.5 macro.
13 second capture needed for this one at ISO 100 and f/16. Captured with window lighting with the candies on a mirror, then holding a black pillow over top to block out the ceiling color and making the background black in the mirror.
Anyone feeling minty now :)

Canon 7D - 1/10 - f2.8 - ISO 800 - 100mm
On Macro Mondays theme "Pick Two", I've chosen Metallic and Brush for this composition.
Using the Nikon-converted Helios 44M at f/4, and the full complement of extension tubes (about 6cm) this image is about 10 by 15mm in size.
Very little post-processing; I've cropped and skewed the image slightly and increased exposure by 1 stop.
