Macro Mondays and the theme of "Pick Two"
This week I decided to go for the words "Pink" and "Pen" from the two lists of words and use my mini highlighter pen as the subject.
I decided to draw a quick squiggle on a piece of white paper and photograph that.
I set the focus at three inches just to be sure and then composed. a little focussing closer was required so it is within the size guidelines.

"Seidenzuckerl" (silk candy) damaged in transport. I'm not sure if these are a viennese speciality or of they available elsewhere. Anyhow they taste good ...
A 2-inch wide section of a hand-woven carrying basket. For Macro Mondays: Pick Two - I picked 1A (striped) and 5B - basket. Also for my POTD.
This macro was taken for the Macro Mondays combined words that would make this week's theme.
I picked Iridescent & Abstract and took some pictures of an abalone shell that we bought in New Zealand.
Doesn't it look like the Northern Light? And it was taken on Blue Monday :-)
Unfortunately, I got distracted and forgot to upload the picture to the group. Still, I am very pleased with the result myself.

Mellow Yellow bottle-cap drowning in our local "Ottakringer" brew - recently awarded European Gold Medals.
Taken with a special version of the well-known and highly regarded SMC Pentax-M 50mm f:1.7 lens, mounted on a helicoid extension-tube, with the camera on a 3-way head and focusing-rack, just to make things easier!
Within the optical system the lens has been fitted with a concentrically-bored metal disc, and was one of a pair used for stereo photography - so it would be something of a half-truth to claim that it's unique! Anyway, that's what creates the unusual bokeh.
The bottle-cap is resting on a very mundane and well-used pot-scrub, and lit-up with Manfrotto LEDs fitted with yellow filters to achieve the bubbly beery gold effect.
Processed from RAW in SILKY PIX Developer Studio Pro 9.

PS. Thanks to Simon's utak and OzzRod for their inspiration to experiment with bokeh-shapes!

I'm still working out my technique, but the idea is to create a series of oil sheen abstracts. In this case, the 'oil' is really clear nail polish on a two inch water puddle.
