Clowns are comic performers who employ slapstick or similar types of physical humour, often in a mime style.
Clowns have a varied tradition with significant variations in costume and performance. The most recognisable modern clown character is theAuguste or "red clown" type, with outlandish costumes featuring distinctive makeup, colourful wigs, exaggerated footwear, and colourful clothing. Their entertainment style is generally designed to entertain large audiences, especially at a distance.
Modern clowns are strongly associated with the tradition of the circus clown, which developed out of earlier comedic roles in theatre or Varietéshows during 19th to mid 20th century.
Many circus clowns have become well known and are a key circus act in their own right. The first mainstream clown role was portrayed byJoseph Grimaldi (who also created the traditional whiteface make-up design). In the early 1800s, he expanded the role of Clown in theharlequinade that formed part of British pantomimes, notably at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and the Sadler's Wells and Covent Gardentheatres. He became so dominant on the London comic stage that harlequinade Clowns became known as "Joey", and both the nickname and Grimaldi's whiteface make-up design were, and still are, used by other types of clowns.
The comedy that clowns perform is usually in the role of a fool whose everyday actions and tasks become extraordinary—and for whom the ridiculous, for a short while, becomes ordinary. This style of comedy has a long history in many countries and cultures across the world. Some writers have argued that due to the widespread use of such comedy and its long history it is a need that is part of the human condition.
The "fear of clowns", circus clowns in particular as a psychiatric condition has become known by the term coulrophobia

Ogre Tribe:
Over the centuries upon centuries of a brutal lifestyle on the vast, fetid wastes of the Burnlands, the orcs have developed many different physical characteristics to survive in their harsh environment.
The orcs of the northern bogs developed a skin that was green of hue to blend with the putrid marshes and have a greater affinity for the shamanic powers. The orcs that have a burnt orange color are said to be blessed by the fires that plague the Burnlands and are more physically impressive.
The common brown orcs are a product of the brown, lifeless ground that encompasses their land. One species of orc, however, has become so different that they have been given their own designation, the Ogres.
The Ogres were separated from the other orcs centuries ago during a abnormal cataclysmic even that broke a vast section of the Burnlands into a mountain range. This land became a hellscape for any orcs that survived, and those that did became exquisite physical specimens. Larger than their distant kin, the Ogres have impressive physical strength but a lowered intelligence capacity.
They charge into battle wielding crude but effective axes that have multiple blades. The oldest and strongest Ogres grow thick tusks that they use for tearing apart meat and bashing enemies. Able to crush a mans skull with a well placed head-butt, the Ogres are the epitome of brute stupidity and ferociousness.
When The Horde gathers, the Ogres climb down from their mountain camps and form the shock infantry focus that is able to crash into enemy lines and deal grotesque amounts of damage.

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

Today was “Moby-Dick.” Tomorrow, it’s “The Psychology Of Money.” Each day, a different book gets 30 minutes. Once “Poor Charlie’s Almanack” becomes available at the library again, that will take over each day. As I finish these others, Munger book reccos will be added. Also, "Cocaine and Rhinestones," (cover art by Wayne White) just because how can you resist that title?

Guest--starring Aurora the Traveling Blythe!
We went to our local Fred Meyer in search of pink, and we found this great pink peace tuffet!
As I was taking the picture, an employee walked by and when he saw what I was doing, asked "Does she match?" Lol!
Oh and I still didn't have Aurora put back in my backpack when I went to check out my groceries. The gal who checked me out looked at her and said, "Oooh is that a Blythe?!" It turns out she collects bjd's, so we had a nice chat while she rang up my groceries.
Aurora is truly fulfilling her mission as a little Blythe ambassador!
A mineral is a naturally-occurring, solid, inorganic, crystalline substance having a fairly definite chemical composition and having fairly definite physical properties. At its simplest, a mineral is a naturally-occurring solid chemical. Currently, there are over 6100 named and described minerals - about 200 of them are common and about 20 of them are very common. Mineral classification is based on anion chemistry. Major categories of minerals are: elements, sulfides, oxides, halides, carbonates, sulfates, phosphates, and silicates.
The sulfide minerals contain one or more sulfide anions (S-2). The sulfides are usually considered together with the arsenide minerals, the sulfarsenide minerals, and the telluride minerals. Many sulfides are economically significant, as they occur commonly in ores. The metals that combine with S-2 are mainly Fe, Cu, Ni, Ag, etc. Most sulfides have a metallic luster, are moderately soft, and are noticeably heavy for their size. These minerals will not form in the presence of free oxygen. Under an oxygen-rich atmosphere, sulfide minerals tend to chemically weather to various oxide and hydroxide minerals.
The rainbow-colored crystals seen here are chalcopyrite, a copper iron sulfide mineral (CuFeS2). Many pyrite-like minerals exist, such as pyrite, marcasite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, pentlandite, and chalcopyrite. Chalcopyrite has a metallic luster, a deep yellowish-brassy color, a dark gray streak, a hardness of about 3.5 to 4, and no cleavage. Many specimens have a multicolored iridescent tarnish, which can be artificially produced by exposure to certain chemicals - often acid. Chalcopyrite is an important copper ore mineral.
This specimen is from a lead-zinc mine in the Viburnum Trend of southeastern Missouri. The Viburnum Trend is a roughly north-south trending zone of sulfide mineralization hosted in Upper Cambrian sedimentary rocks. The principal target minerals in the Viburnum Trend are galena and sphalerite, which are processed into lead and zinc. Numerous gangue minerals are also present. Mineralization in the Viburnum Trend is mostly in carbonate rocks of the Bonneterre Formation (Upper Cambrian). Orebody mapping has shown that mineralization occurred as basinal fluids traveled through the underlying Lamotte Sandstone (also Upper Cambrian) and rose up or around Precambrian basement highs that likely represented islands in a Late Cambrian sea. Mineralization probably occurred in the Late Paleozoic or Mesozoic.
