Another wet knees, tripod and caffeine morning photo.
We planted three small perennial plants of Physalis alkekengi, (aka bladder cherry, Chinese lantern, Japanese-lantern, strawberry, groundcherry, or winter cherry). I love the cheery orangish lantern-shaped paper-like pod or husk around each bright round seed.
Now we have new plants in addition to those we planted in 2017. A fun photo from this morning.
I like to play with the colors and the delicate envelope of those physalis. Here another version quite different in pastel tones
Because these lanterns grew so readily, we pulled up the three to five non-native plants. Brought a few of the "lanterns" into the garage where they've dried or decayed.
For possible Macro Mondays theme of #decay. Aperture at f/4. About 4cm horizontally.
Original shot from 2017 in first comment.
In January 2022 I asked a Flickr support hero to remove my accounts from the Explore algorithm. Peace.
I love how the lampions change colour from green to yellow to orange. Here you can see a green one, an almost yellow one, a yellow one and a little part of an orange one.
