Physalis looking in the "mirror"

Physalis - HMM!

For the "Looking close... on Friday!" topic "A Single Berry or Cherry"

Known by lots of names, a Peruvian Ground Cherry or Cape Gooseberry has one delightful feature for me as a photographer .... the large, papery husk derived from the calyx, which partly or fully encloses the fruit. Some species have edible fruit, a small and yellow to orange berry, similar in size, shape, and structure to a small tomato (hence the name husk tomatoes). They are also grown as ornamental plants, and used in Chinese medicine. [Wiki]

I'm trying to grow some in pots, as they need overwintering indoors. This is not one of my own growing! Maybe next year?

Have a happy weekend, and stay safe!

A physalis plant from the last year in front of a lila spider plant. Even this vintage lens produces a pleasant 3 D-effect if used with an extension tube.

Better known as Chinese Lanterns. These were in a ceramic pot in our garden. I lit them with two small lights with filters on them to create good reflections in the table top.

Another processing of that delicate envelope of this fruit . It is made with the light painting technique , long exposure and small aperture to keep the bokeh.

I took a lot of pictures at Japonica because for lack of budget I could only see and not buy the fatpacks.
