12 photo stack, my first attempt at it.
With a single photo, only part of the image will be in focus. This is 12 photos, focus stacked.
Ever wonder what a stack of over 1000 photos looks like? Well, here it is! This is my printing from about the middle of May to the middle of July. I have such a hard time deciding which to print that I'm sure I print way too many. But, at only about 10 cents per print, it seems worth it to be able to touch each photo. Don't get me wrong. I love being able to shoot digitally and being able to pick and choose rather than having half a roll of film be bad (and printed anyway). But, the one thing I miss more than anything about film, is the excitement of not knowing what I have captured and clutching the package of pictures in my hands. Spreading them out all together on a table to compare is so much better (in some ways) than trying to compare on the computer screen. Of course, with digital, the other drawback is that I can take sooo many photos (since they are "free") and many times I am trying to choose the best shot out of 10 or 20 that are nearly identical. Still, I would never go back to film! I always look forward to my delivery from Shutterfly!
