The old yellow door still sticks out like a sore thumb in this October 8, 2016 view of the repainted pharmacy counter at the Horn Lake Walmart Neighborhood Market. The now color-clashing, overhead sign has gone now, with a more complimentary banner installed in it's place.

Many didn't like when Walmart, at the beginning of its Project Impact rollout, moved the pharmacy from the front entrance to some island off in the middle of the store. Well, like it or not, that's how it's situated in this Super Target, too, and from the beginning, no less! This is looking from the back aisle toward the café area in the front, with grocery to the immediate left of the pharmacy.

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
WEEK 31 – Hernando Kroger
A final shot of the pharmacy area, looking straight-on at the department itself. Three health and beauty aisles (lettered A, B, and C) are lined perpendicularly in front of the pharmacy, with the tiny natural foods section parallel to the pharmacy behind my vantage point here and serving as the back of some self-checkouts. Some random displays and offices are in front of and behind the DCS wall on the left, respectively.

Well, I was going to go around the store in order, but since my week of posting these Walmart Bartlett grand reopening photos is drawing to a close, thought I better hit a few of the non-grocery store areas as well. Here, we see an interesting mix of both old and new style pick up and consultation signs. And just like in the remodeled Senatobia store, they have painted the overhead wall section over the pharmacy itself blue, which to me adds a nice touch of color for the area.

Getting lost in Sion's labyrinthine old town I saw a strange sign, Uffem Bort, 16th-century frescoes. The door was ajar so in I went, to discover a narrow room decorated with biblical scenes. Back home I did some research to find that it was a pharmacy belonging to a Jean Uffem Bort, and that the frescoes had been covered over with plaster for 400 years. The date 1547 is above the door. WEEK 19 – Barnes Crossing Kroger, Pre-Remodel (IV)
Here’s a shot of the front of the pharmacy box. When I say “box,” I really mean it for this store; as you can see, it is quite closed in! Later pharmacies would be more open in nature. Also be sure to check out the “Rx” sign seen in the previous photo – I’m not used to seeing those not up against the same green background as the true pharmacy signage!
If you zoom in to the “drop off” window, you’ll see one what appears to be one of the pharmacists giving me the stink eye. I’m not sure if that was legitimately directed towards me or if I simply took this shot at an awkward moment, but just to be sure, I didn’t take any more interior photos on the 2016 visit on which I got this shot :P And fittingly, this is now serving as our final interior shot of this photoset, too.

If the blue paint over the pharmacy was a mistake, they still hadn't corrected it as of my last visit to the store in October 2016, though this photo is another from September 19th. Part of the new toy department photo décor can be seen on the wall in the distance.

Construction, Week 62 (Demolition, Week 2)
A closer look at the pharmacy itself affords this action shot, where I caught one of the backhoes scraping straight down along what looks to be some more roofing (but I'm not 100% sure on that). I got several photos of this same scene, actually, enough to make a stop-motion video, if I knew how to that is! Without having taken a real video, however, and unwilling to post each picture of the set and have them eat up my photostream, I decided to settle for just this one. If you look past the pharmacy and into the store, you can see several aisle markers, as well as the frozen foods department sign.

This store's remodel consisted mainly of a décor swap, but that swap made a dramatic difference in how the store looks! For some reason, it seems like even more of a difference than usual (somewhat due to the very high ceiling here I'm sure, and the fact that the 2012 wall colors go all the way up to the roof). Compare once again to this 2013 view of the original Arlington Kroger pharmacy overhead sign. And while I'm throwing all these links around, it should be noted that Retail Retell already has an album posted of this store post-remodel, though (haha!) I have the added benefit of being able to post some comparison links to my pre-remodel views from a visit in 2013.

Hong Kong is a city without sleep. Wherever you go, whenver you go, you will find something. People are busy all the time and are looking for something to do. Shopping, eating, watching movies... just about anything. Shops stays open until very late at night.
I spotted this pharmacy and its worker, waited patiently for customers. It was a long night perhaps. He looked tired for sure. The fact that most Hong Kong working class has an average 10-11 working hours. It was indeed a long day, for anyone working in this busy city.

CVS Pharmacy #3328 (10,722 square feet)

This location opened on October 27th, 1997. It was originally built to be a Revco but wasn't finished before the two companies merged that year.

Unfortunately sometime in between July 2014 and May 2015, someone got happy with a lot of brown paint in and around the pharmacy department. Somehow, on most visits I seem to manage to be in here on busy holiday weekends, hence it's often hard to get good pics due to the fact that it's always crowded at the time. In fact, this store seems to be crowded most every weekend for that matter! Anyway, point being, I couldn't get real close to the pickup window due to all the people, but it looked like they had just painted over the paneling, so at least it's still there. Also, despite painting the upper overhead wall brown as well, they didn't replace the old style logo over the pharmacy either!

WEEK 25 – College Town Kroger (I)
On the other side of the café wall is the pharmacy, still sporting its millennium décor as well (though looking a little worse for the wear by this point...). Unfortunately, since there were employees behind the counter, it was hard to find a spot in the health and beauty aisles to take my pic from, and once I did it turned out a little blurry :/

CVS Pharmacy #11083 (closed) [7,200 square feet]
2105 Academy Road, Suite E, Powhatan Plaza, Powhatan, VA
This location opened in August 2016 and relocated here in winter 2018; it was originally Plaza Pharmacy, which opened in 1997. Suite E1 became Smoker's Space in summer 2022.
The pharmacy island has not been painted, and the pharmacy signs are still there. This makes me wonder if they are moving the pharmacy to where the subway was, because if not, this probably would have been painted with new signs by now.
Pet K!
