It is truly remarkable what you can buy on the internet these days.
My darling spouse said I needed some of these. Not sure I agree but, y'know, anything for a quiet life.
I'll let you know how I get on with them.

“Yes! desPLEX to prevent abortion miscarriage and premature labor. Recommended for routine prophylaxis in ALL pregnancies! Ninety-six percent live delivery with desPLEX in one series of 1200 patients – bigger and stronger babies, too. No gastric or other side effects with desPLEX – in either high or low dosage.”
This convincing sales pitch appeared in 1957, right in the middle of the thirty-three year period between 1938 and 1971 during which Diethylstilbestrol (DES) was prescribed regularly under the brand names Estrosyn, Palestrol, Domestrol, and more.

An art installation exploring pharmaceuticals and lifespan. The artist took the health records of his grandparents and reconstructed what pills they probably took over the course of their life and sewed them into a quilt.
It was interesting to see such a tangible representation of the evolution of health-care goals over the life span.
Endo Pharmaceuticals Building (Paul Rudolph, 1960-1964). A heroic essay in bush-hammered, cast-in-place concrete, granting a Brutalist medieval sensibility to the suburban corporate complex. Rudolph's work in this vein is less well-known than both his institutional and domestic work, and the corporate-campus projects of architects who saw their clients in terms of sleek, adaptable, anonymizing grids.
Rudolph does cave to the programmatic requirements (warehouse, laboratories, headquarters offices) by making most of the thing just an enormous box to hold it all. But he strives valiantly to conceal this behind an arrival facade of stepping terraces and unfurling curved staircases, and a parade of sculpted projections animating all other facades: mushrooming whatsits screening rooftop mechanical equipment, staircases like giant light switches (or heavily abstracted cartoon ducks' heads), and big ol' manicotti noodles which look like they might house ventilating stacks, but apparently do not.
The textured concrete stands in for all ornament, which means we kind of jump from the itty-bitty scale of the surface to the medium scale of the projections; I'd personally like something in between, but this is still something pretty special in the genre. Maybe the most charming thing today is how a lot of the foliage feels just slightly "overgrown"; things would have been kept much trimmer in the 1960s. It feels appropriate for Rudolph, like he's inadvertently stumbled into being a different kind of "Tropical Modernist" than he ever was in Florida.

MPs have argued that spending money on homeopathy is a waste of NHS money and that the money should go to other areas. The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee have said using public money on the highly-diluted remedies could not be justified.

" The closer you look at conventional medicine, the more you realize just how much it's based on quackery. From the exaggerated claims of drug advertisements (which imply that swallowing patented chemicals will solve your life problems) to the absurd pro-drug, anti-nutrition regulatory proclamations by the FDA, the modern U.S. "sick care system" has become the laughing stock of the world...."
