ever since i was a little girl.....i've found myself spellbound by the strangest of things!!!!
cant walk past a chemist that has one of these lovely big shinny ,glowing ,colourery-liquid-filled carboys in the window without smiling to myself ......and dreaming of genies...
(i wasn't sure how to spell "genies" ....so i looked it up in the dictionary.... and from what i can tell ...you can spell it any which way you wish!!!!!.....oops..excuse the pun..
no but really !! i've never seen a fairytale entity.. that had so many ways of spelling its name!!)
if your not in a rush dear friends …..stop a while and read on as I have a few thoughts on the subject of “WISHES “ that I'd like to share with you...(just a quickie I promise!!! LOL)
“WISHES” …...sound great!!!!!..........but as we all know the truth of the matter is....they're fought with peril and dodgy as fuk!!!!!!.........especially those granted by mythical folk!!!......remember the golden pickle poor Midas got into!!!!! …..oh yes!! ...there's a very good reason why we have the saying “BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR”........should you be polishing pots one day and have the misfortune to find yourself confronted by a Genie in “jim jams” brandishing Wishes...... wot ya gonna do hey?!?!?!?!?!?!?! cos you just know that no matter WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!.........that sneaky mythical entity is going to take your wish and twist it !!! till you wished you hadn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fear not dear friends!!!!!......for maxxxi's here and she has a cunning plan!!!! (cos she's crazy enough to worry about such stuff)..........and after many years of contemplation I think i've finally got them genies beat..........and come up with a fool proof wish!!!!!!....(believe me its not been easy....even “world peace and happiness” ….can be twisted to the downfall of mankind)
no so far the only fool proof wish i've managed to come up with.....(and please if you can find a loop hole in it or do better …..i'd love to know... leave a comment).............ok so are you ready for this...hey !! ...hey??........... I WOULD WISH FOR …...”GOOD LUCK!!”......as I have yet to find a way that it can be twisted against me by those sneaky little genie folk!!!!!!!!!!
love crazy maxxxi
PS...far safer to spend your life helping others to see their wishes come true...x x x

This is the devastation in the aftermath of what's known as the Burning of Cork during the Irish War of Independence. We don't have an exact location, but another Hogan-Wilson photo in this series shows this remaining facade front on, and carving says Pharmaceutical & Dispensing Chemist.

To this day, the full extent of the DES drug disaster is yet to be seen and understood so it is no surprise that DES mothers, daughters and sons leave in fear ... What do you fear most in life?
The cost of medicine in the US is one of the highest in the world. Should the pharmaceutical companies be forced to reduce their prices? What do you think?

Seen as a medical miracle to help women with pregnancy issues and a dependable source of steady income for pharmaceutical companies, Diethylstilbestrol (DES) was given to millions of women around the world. It was meant to be a wonder drug for expecting moms but its devastating impacts are now hitting their daughters and sons, decades later. Diethylstilbestrol was considered safe and effective for both mothers and their developing babies until the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advised physicians in 1971 to discontinue prescribing diethylstilboestrol in pregnant women because of its link to a rare vaginal cancer.

There's a pervasive (but false) idea in western medicine that the more pharmaceuticals you take, the healthier you'll get. That's how pharmaceuticals are marketed, in fact: Take these pills if you want to be healthier!
... In the real world, the game of pharmaceutical pinball is destroying people's health and lives. People get put on one drug for one symptom, and then that drug causes three more symptoms. Then the patient goes to the doctor who medicates those three new symptoms with three more drugs. This silly cycle of drug "treatments" leading to yet more side effects continues until the patient either runs out of money or dies from the side effects of the medications (heart attack, liver failure, stroke, etc.)...

We get to the seventh or so floor before we finally find some intact medical supplies. We go into a room that looked to be some kind of pharmaceutical storage. Medical cabinets line the walls. Ripped open IV bags and surgical equipment are scattered across the floor amongst the dust and ceiling tiles. There’s a medical cabinet that caught my attention right next to us. The cover was shattered out so I didn’t have to jimmy it open. I look back to Cristy and nod towards the other cabinets.
Phin - “Start looking around, see if you can find anything useful.”
Cristy - “Right.”
She strides behind me, places her rifle against a tipped over drawer and starts looking through the supply cabinets. I start looking through the cabinet at the bottles and vials that are still in one piece. Morphine was the only thing I instantly recognized. Other bottles had names like midazolam, chlordiazepoxide, pentobarbital, fentanyl, and other medical gibberish. I’m no medicine expert, so I have no clue what most of this stuff even is. I start pulling out each vial one by one; reading over their brief descriptions and taking mental-note on whether they’d be useful or not. I set a select few to the side that sound as though they’d be useful for medical situations.
Cristy - “Hey,”
I look over to Cristy. She raises a strip of packaged syringes still looking as if they’re intact.
Cristy - “-would these be any use?”
Phin - “Definitely. Make sure to pack them all up.”
Cristy starts tucking the packages into her bag while I continue sorting out the vials. Once I gather as much as I can I wrap them all in a blanket for safety and fit them into my rucksack.

Every 12 hours I poke one of these into my abdomen. I resent them. They hurt. They're pharmaceutical and I am herbal. I don't like them but they keep me alive.

20/52 Something You Dislike
There is something that everyone dislikes whether it is doing the laundry for the 30 millionth time, the sound of a baby crying, inconsiderate smokers or the daily commute. We are pretty sure that you will not have to think for very long to think of something!
This is however an ideal challenge to tell a story with your photo. Are any senses shown in the photo? Why do the viewers realize that your photo show something that you dislike? Maybe it is something universal that we all dislike or maybe they can see the reason in your photo.
This is once again a theme that is barn-door wide open for personal interpretation. It could be a thing or a place or an action or a situation. Please be as creative as you want and surprise us with a large variety of the things that you love to hate!
