Roy Waldron, Chair, IFPMA IP and Trade Committee, Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, Pfizer Inc., spoke on October 3, 2017 at a WIPO-hosted panel discussion that followed the announcement of a new partnership (Pat-INFORMED) between WIPO and the research-based biopharmaceutical industry to promote the accessibility of patent information for health agencies tasked with procurement of medicines.

 

The event took place on the sidelines of the Assemblies of WIPO Member States.

Pfizer’s Zithromax® (azithromycin), an antibiotic to treat trachoma. Trachoma is an infectious disease, which can develop into a condition in which eyelids turn in and eyelashes scrape the eyeball, causing great pain, corneal ulcers and irreversible blindness.
