I bought the new record 30 years to the day I first saw them live: Oct. 9, 1979 (Dynasty Tour). I even saw Ace without makeup before the show... but didn't realize it until about 1994.
At Kiss Mini-Golf we were able to try on Kiss's boots. My dad is wearing Gene Simmons boots and I think my mom is wearing Peter Criss's.

We met Peter at the 2014 Comic Con convention. Peter signed my 1978 Peter Criss solo record. Peter and all four of the original members of Kiss were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.

These don't just look vaguely like rubber ducks -- they are rubber ducks. They float in water and, when squeezed, make squeaky rubber duck sounds.
PS: Yes, some 20 years ago I used to be a member of the Kiss Army. So I probably deserve this ...
This is part of quite a unique set - a Japanese import of the first nine albums with the original line-up, all on colored vinyl in the original sleeves. Huge booklet with a sticker sheet and die-cut cards. The box is about four inches thick.
I got this as a gift from an employer. I don't know how many of these were made; I'm guessing no more than 1,000, maybe even only half that.
Lighting isn't great here. Took it in the late afternoon in shade. You don't really get a sense of the true color of the vinyl. Maybe I'll re-shoot it.
Who thought you'd need to translate KISS lyrics into Japanese?
Cincinnati Comic Expo held in the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. I would place these to at a Horror Hound convention more likely than at a Comicon, but then I don't know my comic characters. We saw them standing in line for the costume contest prejudging and asked if we could take their pictures after they got through the process. Even though they were in line very close to the judging room, they still hadn't completed the process by the time we had walked the very long distance around the convention center, so we waited a bit longer. In spite of their intimidating appearances, we found them to be very pleasant and fun to talk to and were glad we waited around to get their pictures.
A KISS fan for close to 30 years, it was great to meet Peter again. I say again, because I met him at a KISS convention about 10 years ago or so, but surely there was no way he was going to remember me.
Peter was in high spirits that day, and he really cracked me up, when I handed him my vintage Peter doll for him to sign. He took the doll and started making it walk, while singing "doo doo dee" or something to that effect. You had to be there, but it was fucking hilarious.

trick or treating in our little town is a wonderful experience. Tons of adults dress up, there's good cheer and merriment (aided by the guy who gives out jello shots to the adults!), and it feels wonderfully small town and fun. People were crazy for my Medusa headdress this year and Clark's scuba costume was especially admired by some people who actually scuba dive.

In this issue Kiss battle Doctor Doom and Mephisto. Kiss mixed their own blood in with the ink used for this book, hence it was advertised as Printed in real KISS blood. The original members of Kiss were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
