In the field of opportunity, It's plowin' time again. So sang Neil Young in his song of the same name. I saw this couple working their plot of land close to Moray in Peru and had to have a photo.

Peru Highway 1, most widely known as Carretera Panamericana, is the most important highway in Peru.
This road is the Peruvian portion of the Pan-American Highway. It runs north–south through the whole length of the country and connects all major cities in the country's coastal area.
The northern terminus of the highway is located in the Macará International Bridge (Piura Region) at the border with Ecuador. Starting in this point, the highway is known as Carretera Panamericana Norte ("North Pan-American Highway") until it reaches a point located in central Lima, the country's capital.
Going south from this point, the highway is called Carretera Panamericana Sur ("South Pan-American Highway"), until it reaches the southern terminus, located in the Santa Rosa Border Post, in the Tacna Region at the border with Chile.

This one has Christmas colours, red and green. I’m not a fan as they are very intrusive in the garden.
they look like fancy ribbons to me.

Peruvian Pelican - Pelecanus thagus - Though closely related, the Peruvian Pelican is almost twice as large as its northern congener, the Brown Pelican. The species breeds along the Pacific Coast of South America in Peru and Chile. Though still common, with about half a million breeding adults, the population has been negatively affected by strong El Niño fluctuations and changes in food fish populations, particularly anchoveta. Peruvian Pelicans are easily observed from shore as they fly back and forth in nearshore waters by means of soaring interrupted by deep, methodical wingbeats. Near threatened. doi.org/10.2173/bow.perpel1.01

The Peruvian Lilies from my Christmas flowers.
If you have any of the Lily family of flowers in your house and also have a cat(s) beware. They are highly toxic / lethal to cats and they only need to ingest a tiny amount to kill them.
Better viewed large, and thank you for your favourites. :)
Today's theme is Machu Picchu in Peru. More than 7,000 feet above sea level in the Andes Mountains, Machu Picchu is the most visited tourist destination in Peru. A symbol of the Incan Empire and built around 1450AD, Machu Picchu was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 and was named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.

Peruvian Paso Horse Show, Wayra Ranch, Urubamba District, Sacred Valley, Peru. The Peruvian Paso or Peruvian Horse is protected and has been declared a Cultural Heritage of the Peru by the National Institute of Culture
It is found in the high Andes at altitudes of 3,500 - 5,500 meters. That they can live at more than 5,000 m is probably due to their super fine wool coat, which they wear like an insulating layer.
Vicunas have the finest animal hair ever! Their fibers are even finer than silk, making their wool the most expensive processing material in the clothing industry
