Many entire civilizations have arisen and fallen while this tree grew, prospered, and then faded, and we, the current brief occupants of this world, bicker about what a politician said today (forgotten tomorrow), and toss around terms like civil war because we cannot tolerate a politician of the opposite party for 4 years. Our foresight and patience are some of the things that are even shorter than our lives. It’s so easy for short lived creatures like ourselves to totally lose perspective. We are but a blink of the eye to trees like this. 14-24 mm lens, 24 mm, f/2.8, 20 sec, ISO 6400, stacked image.

Aloe provides a lovely splash of colour to the garden here throughout the winter months.

The enclosed alley (a "close" as they are called here), like a tunnel running between and under the Victorian tenements, this one opposite the Lyceum Theatre, leads to a rough square between the blocks, with a similar opening on the other side connecting to the road there. Pretty much begging for a B&W shot...

Elsie giving me some love. Or is she trying push me into the pool.

A new perspective to view Blea Tarn from, on my descent from Side Pike I went to investigate some strange objects and found this picturesque stump - perfect!

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I love the sense of scale from the forced perspective that comes in this shot from first glance. Enjoy!

Suppose you will be arriving Tokyo Narita international airport at 9:30 am and next flight is at 5:00 pm.

Where do you have to go for a photo shoot and nice food?

There are a few attractions in the vicinity if you have a layover and don't want to waste two hours of it on the long ride to central Tokyo.

Just ten minutes by train from the airport, historic town of Narita offers you a quintessential Japanese experience. Narita actually is very charming town with a lot of atmospheric streets lined with old wooden shops and traditional Japanese restaurants.

But if you are a curious person like me, how about starting transit tour from the pedestrian underpass connecting airport terminal 2 and railway station of Higashi-Narita that once was a gateway to the airport. Terminal 2 is 500 meters away from Higashi-Narita, whose next stop is Narita town.

A yacht floats beneath the massive wall of a glacier in Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska. There are at least two seals and a bald eagle also in this image (see my comment below).
