Hong Kong Transport - Buses | All types
The Hong Kong Bus Culture
The number of buses registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 18,000 - 22,000 vehicles and presumably new buses registered are offset by old buses being retired or sold over the border in China. (Source - The Transport Department, Hong Kong Government)
Bus services in Hong Kong have to be amongst the best of all major cities in the World.
All major Hong Kong Bus Companies invest heavily and are using mainly brand new double decker buses and all of them are testing and introducing single and double decker 100% electric buses and also hydrogen powered buses for future use.
☛Major Franchised Bus Companies in Hong Kong
Citybus | Cityflyer ✚ Kowloon Motor Bus | KMB ✚ Long Win Motor Bus | LWB ✚ New Lantao Bus | NLB ✚ HZMB ✚ Note : New World First Bus | NWFB merged with Citybus in 2022
☛Non - Franchised Public Bus Services using double decker and single decker buses (feeder services)
Mass Transit Railway | MTR ✚ DBTS - Lantau Island ✚ Park Island Transport Co. Ltd.
☛All Major Franchised Public Minibus Services (PLB) seating 16 or 19 people
Franchised and Non Franchised Public Light Bus Red Top ✚ Franchised Public Light Bus Green Top
☛Privately Owned Buses
Toyota seems to be the preferred brand for privately owned small and medium sized buses and are used for the following purposes
Public and Private Rehab Buses ✚ Commercial Building Buses ✚ Resident Services Buses ✚ Travel and Tour Buses ✚ Contract Hire ✚ School Buses ✚ Hotel Buses ✚ Misc. Buses for any type of charter | hire too numerous to mention including cross border buses.
One of the largest privately owned companies is Kwoon Chung Bus Company who also offer Non Franchised and Franchised Bus Services through it‛s subsidiary New Lantao Bus
☛Many Hong Kong Government Departments have a fleet of buses but for some reason also contract hire from Private Bus Companies on an “as needed” basis.
Any Government OWNED and operated vehicle in this section (such as Correctional Services Buses, Police Buses etc ) have a licence plate starting AM and any Chinese Military Vehicle has a licence plate starting ZG and naturally some of these vehicles have personalized licence plates which they buy at Government Auction!

When I had a slab poured for my garage, I debated about going out that evening and writing something in the fresh cement. I couldn't think of anything cool to write, so I did nothing. Imagine my surprise when I went out the next morning to find that it had been personalized with paw prints.
Learn how to create personalized greeting cards using GIMP, Inkscape and Scribus. This year I decided to create some cards for my family, friends, co-workers and calligraphy guild members (card exchange).
I created 60 personalized 5″ x 7″ (A7) greeting cards. Each card had a persons (or family’s) name done in authentic calligraphy draped on top of seasonal stock photography and textures. The inside of the cards have greetings also done in authentic calligraphy — around six greetings that are mixed and matched with the cards. All of the lettering was completed with my new designer type that I plan to offer commercially. I also created a couple of stock cards for events that come up throughout the year.
This project workflow consisted of starting in GIMP for processing the background images and the typeface itself, then Inkscape for the layout of each card (outsides & insides), then Scribus for the production of a single 120 page PDF (version 1.4) file that was sent to the print shop. This was a really fun project that anyone can do using completely FREE software. I have two courses that would help you create these from start to finish — Digital Arts Course & my Desktop Publishing Course that are available at gimpmagazine.org/courses
Overall I am really happy with the outcome. The quality of the print job was exceptional. It is unusual to get a completely personalized card with your name on it so everyone has expressed thanks and some have said they look forward to next year. I really love the look of these cards. The printing specifications include:
-5″ x 7″
-Double sided
-Scored & folded
-Full bleed printing (added 1/8″ around – 7.25″ x 10.25″)
-Colour
-FSC Standard Gloss Cover – White – 111lb paper
-Uses standard A7 Envelopes

I made this "MP" brooch for a retirement gift. It is forged brass with a stainless steel pin. I was inspired by Alexander Calder's initials brooches.
I'm usually not one who fancies overly complicated tactical weaponry, so I tried to keep it neat and somewhat simple. Custom parts include the collapsible stock, pistol grip, magazine, hand-guard, flash-hider, iron sight, dust cover and scope. (Also engraved a logo of sorts into the receiver)
Enjoy.
This 2 tier cake has lavender stripes and swags accented with pink jewels. There were lavender crowns on the top tier and the birthday girls name pops off the cake. The cake is pearlized and covered with a sugar crystals for extra sparkle
This is a little wedding gift put together for our friends Monique and Peter. There are two personalized towels, a hot water bottle & matching cover, a girlie cosmetic bag, a little softie, some lavender tea bags and a candle & base (not made by me and not shown). I put them all together in this very French market basket.
12 personalized favor tags for the ultimate party thrower. They are perfect for baby showers and kids birthday parties.
Each favor tag is printed on textured 80lb. card stock measuring 2" in diameter. Every tag is hole punched and secured with a stainless steel eyelet and finished with a chocolate ribbon. The ribbon measures 9" once fed through the eyelet.

BOX DATE: 2003
MANUFACTURER: M.G.A.
DOLLS IN LINE: Cloe; Yasmin; Sasha; Jade; Dana
RELEASES: 2003 Funk 'N' Glow; 2023 Series 3 The Bratz Pack
MISSING ITEMS: Bracelet
SPECIAL FEATURES: Light up jacket
IMPORTANT NOTES: The black shirt, pink skirt, and gold shirt were all originally repackaged on 2002 Funk 'N' Glow Sasha. The jeans, black purse, pink purse, cowgirl hat, and boa were originally packaged on 2002 Funk 'N' Glow Cloe. The 2023 Series 3 reissue of this doll was sold without any accessories, besides the sunglasses and and one pair of earrings. Her jacket also does not light up.
PERSONAL FUN FACT: I still can't believe after all these years how pristine my Funk 'N' Glow Dana was when I got her in 2013. I don't know the backstory of the dolls I bought from the eBay seller. It was strange though, because they all looked like new, and some of the fashions/accessories were still mounted on cellophane. However, Head Gamez Dana (who was part of the same lot as this Funk 'N' Glow lady) was on a body....so someone bothered to put her separate head on one, but didn't do anything else with her. I'm assuming the dolls were purchased by a collector, or a child who just wasn't into playing with the dolls. The fact that none of the stuff was still boxed made it easier to ship (it cost way less). Dana was just about entirely complete when she arrived. I do know that I was missing a few things here and there from the Funk 'N' Glow collection I acquired from this seller. But due to the amount of repackaging in this line, I was able to recreate the missing items for photos. Dana's outfits aren't my favorites from the Funk 'N' Glow line. However, I think that they suit her. I like that her clothes are a bit more streamlined and less flashy. The boa and cowgirl hat are enough. I also feel that the gold accents (like her jewelry) do great things for Dana's complexion and hair color. My favorite piece is of course the custom jacket with the shoe on it. Dana's nickname is "Sugar Shoes," and I love that her emblem was incorporated into this set. In fact, all the Funk 'N' Glow dolls (from both the 2002 and 2003 waves) have personalized jackets like this one, but in different styles!
