These are my favourite books that have helped me to not too shy to: ask, confront, negotiate and say no. In the other way around I also learn to respect other people "NOs".
Unable to say no could cause you emotional injuries and you also might be attractive enough to people with dominating/controlling behaviours.
Setting goals and making a consistent effort to improve is so very important. What is not important is for your goals to look good to someone else.
My goal of overcoming my fear of snakes may not make sense to you. Your goal of learning to scuba dive may not enthrall me. It doesn’t matter...
