Meet Rebecca Roper - 'Exceptional Woman in Queensland Resources' finalist in this year’s QRC/WIMARQ Resources Awards for Women, presented by Anglo American.
Rebecca is the Manager of George Fisher Mine at Glenore Qld Metals Mount Isa Mines. Based in Mount Isa, Rebecca has had over 20 years' experience in the industry in both large and small operations across Australia. Rebecca’s qualifications include Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) Honours and Underground Production Manager Certificate of Competence. She is the first female Mine Manager and Statutory Ticket holder for Glencore Zinc Assets Australia, and a proud advocate for women in the resources sector. Rebecca is known for challenging biases around what women can and cannot do at all levels of the industry. As a senior leader, she recognises the importance of helping others pursue their own career ambitions by removing barriers and improving opportunities.

L’Alpine Renault Gordini du Val de Saône organise sa 5ème édition du Montceaux Alpine Renault Classic les 20 et 21 août 2016 à MONTCEAUX (01090).
Cette année la R5 Alpine, pour ses 40 ans, invite toute la famille Renault et Alpine. Bien entendu la 4CV, la Dauphine et le Spider seront également mis à l’honneur pour leurs anniversaires.
La fête débutera le samedi à partir de 13h30 avec accueil, ballade touristique, visite de cave, mâchon beaujolais et repas avec soirée dansante.
Le dimanche sera consacré à une parade, expositions, concours d’élégance, animations, repas, bourse de pièces, village marchand et une tombola avec une voiture à gagner !!
Tarifs : 50€/pers pour les 2 jours (repas et animations inclus)
Possibilité de ne venir que le dimanche sans inscriptions.
Parking pour les véhicules de collection autres marques.

Cancún, Q. Roo, julio 5, 2011.- Con el objetivo de unir esfuerzos para combatir la trata de personas en el estado, la CROC y el Sistema de Desarrollo Integral para la Familia (DIF), firmaron un convenio de colaboración que permitirá reforzar la atención a los problemas sociales de la población quintanarroense.
La firma fue realizada en el Hotel JW Marriot, por el Dip. Fed. Isaías González Cuevas, secretario general del CEN de la CROC; el dirigente sindical estatal, Martín de la Cruz Gómez, y la presidente del DIF en el estado, Mariana Zorrilla de Borge.
El Dip. Fed. Isaías González Cuevas, indicó que la trata de personas es un problema de índole mundial, el cual se desarrolla principalmente en destinos turísticos como Cancún, en donde la explotación sexual comercial infantil se ha convertido en una de las actividades delictivas con mayor grado en la ciudad.
Destacó que la CROC está dispuesta a participar con el apoyo de las diferentes instituciones, para llevar a cabo acciones de prevención ante problemas tales como alcoholismo, drogadicción, violencia intrafamiliar y trata de personas.
Por su parte, la primera dama del estado, Mariana Zorrilla de Borge, comentó que la familia constituye el núcleo de una sociedad, por lo que es importante fortalecer la concientización entre sus integrantes, procurando la unión de los familiares y una mejor atención al comportamiento de los hijos, quienes son más proclives a ser víctimas de esta transgresión.
Durante su intervención, el dirigente sindical Martín de la Cruz señaló que la trata de personas ha afectado a más de 100 mil personas; así que la CROC y el DIF, realizarán acciones conjuntas para preservar el entorno familiar sano, a través de sus programas sociales destinados a salvaguardar la integridad de la comunidad.
Mario Machuca Sánchez, secretario de enlace social del CEN de la CROC, mencionó que la Organización cuenta con más de 600 asesores sociales en todo el país, quienes trabajan coordinadamente con los DIF estatales e instituciones de salud, para realizar la labor de prevención.
Dijo que a través del convenio firmado con el DIF en la administración anterior, 27 compañeros se certificaron como orientadores familiares, quienes lograron sensibilizar a más de 10 mil compañeros croquistas.
En el evento acudieron el Lic. Rodrigo de la Peña, presidente de la asociación de hoteles de Cancún, y el Lic. Rolando de Jesús Rodríguez Herrera, director general del Sistema DIF Quintana Roo.

Randy Cohen will interview Pulitzer Prize-winning Irish poet Paul Muldoon and his wife novelist Jean Hanff Korelitz for his public radio program Person, Place, Thing on Monday, September 29 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Princeton Public Library. Guests on the program are asked to speak about a person, a place, and a thing they find meaningful, rather than about themselves.
Paul Muldoon is the Howard G.B. Clark ’21 university professor in the Humanities at Princeton and the founding chair of the Lewis Center for the Arts where he is a professor of creative writing. He is also the poetry editor for The New Yorker. His new collection One Thousand Things Worth Knowing: Poems will be published by Farrar Straus and Giroux in January. According to the publisher, “Muldoon can be somber or quick-witted — often within the same poem: The mournful refrain of “Cuthbert and the Otters” is ‘I cannot thole the thought of Seamus Heaney dead,’ but that doesn’t stop Muldoon from quipping that the ancient Danes “are already dyeing everything beige/In anticipation, perhaps, of the carpet and mustard factories.”
Nick Laird’s assessment, in The New York Review of Books, is that Muldoon is “the most formally ambitious and technically innovative of modern poets,” an experimenter and craftsman who “writes poems like no one else.”
Publishers Weekly calls Jean Hanff Korelitz’s new novel You Should Have Known (Grand Central $26) an “excellent literary mystery” that “unfolds with authentic detail in a rarified contemporary Manhattan.” Her 2009 novel, Admission, about a reader in Princeton University’s Office of Admissions, was made into a movie starring Tina Fey in 2013. Durante una discussione di gruppo, una persona, saccente e piena di sè, decide di zittire una persona che stava dicendo qualcosa di interessante;
qualcosa che arrivava da un'esperienza diretta, raccolta con gli occhi, rielaborata e poi esposta semplicemente.
Il saccente liquida quest ultimo sciorinando una serie di teorie raccolte nei libri e raccontate con enfasi.
Ora sta ai loro interlocutori capire se far continuare a parlare il ragazzo intelligente o il buffone saccente;
l'esperienza quotidiana di tutti noi, ci insegna come è facile che vada a finire...
