From a recent (pre)wedding party I attended in Cyprus.
A few hours before the actual ceremony, the bride and groom held the 'adornments' parties at their parents' houses. During the groom's party, the best man will shave the groom and help him get dress. Once the groom ready, his family and closest friends will have an opportunity to give him their best wishes as they 'belt' him with a red scarf. The whole ceremony takes around 30 minutes and it involves singers—accompanied by laoutos, guitars, and violins—singing the 'agenda' and order of progression for the wishes. At the end, the singers continue singing and all are invited to dance traditional songs.
